It had been a while since I had started up my pokemon red. Almost 8 years. I was watching the old Pokemon TV show, and was feeling nostalgic, and rummaged through my apartment until my game was found.
Now, being a fan of creepypasta, I know that you probably think that the minute I started my game, the opening would be messed up or when I pressed continue my stats wouldn't show up and go immediately to gameplay. Well, no, that's not what happened. The opening was absolutely fine, and my stats were the same as the last time. Name: May (my favorite character in the anime), 8 badges, about $35,000 PP, and 67 pokemon caught despite my feeble attempt to "catch 'em all". I pressed A and continued. I found myself in the Indigo Plateau and decided to face the pokemon league. My beautiful team that consisted of Charizard, Pidgeot, Arbok, Pikachu, Kadabra and Vaporeon. They were all Lv. 90 and above. Proud and prepared, I entered through the door.
I easily defeated the elite four and went on to the hall of fame. This is where things got a little weird…and sad.
Instead of showing my pokemon and it's stats, Blue appeared on the screen. He said "How could you leave your pokemon for so long? They missed you. I was the only one there for them"
What? This couldn't be happening. Creepypasta isn't real, right? I took a deep breath and shook my head, and shouldered on.
But Charizard was now on the screen. He looked sad. Not angry, but sad. A text box came up, saying "Why did you leave us? We were so lonely, so lonely. Why do you hate us?"
At this point, tears welled up in my eyes and started to pour down my face. "I don't hate you. I love you. I always have. But life gets overwhelming. I'm so sorry. Please forgive me..." I put down my gameboy and went to wash my face. When I came back, a new text box was on the screen.
"We have to go. We cannot trust you anymore. However, we understand that life in the real world is much harder. How could we not forgive our only master and mother? As much as we now love Blue, we can never have the same love for him as we have for you. Understand." One by one, my pokemon from my party and my PC, appeared and dissolved. When all the pokemon had gone, the game had reset. There was no continue button, just "new game".
Please, if you have an old pokemon game you haven't played in a while, go on and give your pokemon lots of love. They think so much more of you than you know. They love you. Understand, please.
