Daddy's Girl

A/n: Okay, I saw the promo pictures for Big Baby yesterday and absolutely write about it. This is just a short fic, a really short fic, about how I thought the scene from the picture would play out. :P Like I warned in the summary there are HUGE spoilers ahead so if you don't want to be spoiled don't read. :D

I don't own anything House related, it all belongs to the amazing mind of David Shore and the FOX network.

House walked down the hallway towards the clinic. He needed to talk to Cuddy. Having Cameron as his boss for the past we allowed him to have a greater appreciation for Cuddy. Cameron was driving him crazy! There were times when Cuddy would have a little too much input, but most of the time her input was necessary. Lately, Cameron had been taking a little too much of her new advantage.

House swung open the door to Cuddy's office and opened his mouth to speak, but quickly shut it when he observed the scene he walked into. Cuddy was on the small couch with a stack of folders sitting on the coffee table in front of her and a single one spread open on her lap. Her head was tilted to the side and her eyes were closed. House could tell by her heavy breathing that she had fallen asleep. House switched his attention to the stroller across the room. Unlike her mother, Rachel was wide awake, squirming and cooing happily.

House knew Cuddy was still learning about motherhood and understood how she could be tired. House leaned his cane against Cuddy's desk and took hold of the stroller. He decided to let Cuddy sleep and help babysit for a while. He drove Rachel out the office and down the hall to his.

********

The sound of the vacuum cleaner in the hallway scared Cuddy awake. She yawned and ran a hand through her hair. She checked her watch. She had been sleeping for at least an hour. She turned her gaze to the other end of the room and saw that Rachel and her stroller were missing. Cuddy immediately began to panic. She threw the folder that was in her lap on top of the stack and rushed out of her office. She flew down the hallway and searched her pockets for her cell phone. She was calling security as she ran to House's office hoping he was still around.

She slowly hung up the phone as she witnessed what she couldn't believe. House was holding Rachel. Cuddy couldn't even wrap her mind around the concept. She knew he hated people but never really thought about him and children. She just naturally assumed his relationship with children was the same with his relationship with people.

"I thought I'd let you have a nap." House explained.

She nodded. As mad as she was that he just took her without telling anyone, she couldn't help but smile. She sat on the edge of the foot rest and watched him interact with her child. He held her so carefully, as if he felt he would break her. She didn't want to ruin the moment.

"I'm going to run to the vending machine, do you want anything?" Cuddy asked as she stood back up.

House shook his head no and Cuddy wandered down the hall.

When she came back, she found Rachel asleep in House's arms. House smiled at Cuddy, not wanting to say anything to wake her. Cuddy squeezed in next to House in the space that was left on his chair. He wrapped the arm that wasn't holding Rachel around Cuddy's back. Cuddy leaned her head on House's shoulder and watched her little girl sleeping peacefully.

House took in the moment and soon he had two beautiful girls asleep in his arms.
