A/N: This story was written for "THE WHIMSICAL DUCK DRABBLETHON" (which was FOREVER AGO over at Paradox (under dark_spidey story originally called "The Gift") but I never posted this anywhere other than in that post) based on 3.08 "The Adhesive Duck Deficiency" The prompt was to use quotes from the episode as inspiration for a drabble.

Knock, knock, knock. "Penny."

Knock, knock, knock. "Penny."

Knock, knock, knock. "Penny."

Penny cracked opened the door just enough to peek her head out.

"What Sheldon?" Penny had an annoyed smile on her face. "You know you're not…"

"Yes, yes I know." Sheldon quickly cut her off. "But I came to give you this."

Penny's brows knitted together as she saw a white box in Sheldon's out stretched hand. Penny gave Sheldon a quick glance and he immediately closed his eyes.

"I won't look."

Penny opened the door further and took the box from Sheldon. Sheldon stood there patiently, waiting for her reaction.

"Sheldon…what is this?"

"The ducks in my tub."

"Yes I see that."

"Then you should also know that they're whimsical."

"Okay…but why are you giving them to me?"

"I'm not giving them to you per se….I'm simply letting you borrow them, plus they're old."

When Sheldon heard no response from Penny he quickly opened one eye. Penny stood there with her hand covering her mouth. Once again he closed his eye and continued.

"I think I always knew, but I didn't understand it. But the day, so many years ago, that you slipped in the shower and dislocated your shoulder, it was confirmed. I knew I was in love with you."

Penny felt the tears prickling her eyes, but still she said nothing.

"I think I should go." Sheldon turned to leave.

"Wait!" Penny grabbed Sheldon's arm, much like the day he spoke of. "Get in here!"

"But Penny I really should be getting back to the…"

"I can't wait that long."

Penny placed her hands on Sheldon's cheeks, with his eyes still closed Penny guided Sheldon's lips to hers.

"I love you so much…Wall-E." Penny giggled. "You're so full of love."

"I love you too." Their lips met once again. "And Penny…you look beautiful."

"You said you wouldn't look."

"Sorry, as I told you so long ago, the hero always peeks."

"And you also said it never ends well."

"Well in this instance…" Sheldon opened his eyes to look at his beautiful bride-to-be, who was standing there in her wedding dress holding a shower suction sticker mat. "That's not the case."
