She heard things going on around her. Buzzing, thumping, crashes, and clanks. She tried to open her eyes but nothing. It was as if something… or someone was preventing her from opening them. She was scared, any child would, it was only natural… right? Of course, right, but no! A Beauregard would not be scared, a Beauregard is fearless, a Beauregard is a star and stars don't get scared! But that did not matter, because she was scared, and she was terrified. She wanted to scream, but she knew not to, because it wasn't the time or place to do something like screaming, that's what daddy taught her. Stars don't act like fools in public, but she didn't know where she was or who was around her therefore she might not be in public at all! Or she could be in public, which would mean that if she let out a scream, it could ruin her reputation. After all daddy is always right, so she concluded that just staying quiet was the best thing to do. She would hate being a considered a fool. What woke her from her thoughts was a manly voice.

"Patient B173 will be waking up soon, let's finish this procedure."

This was followed by more noises and other voices saying things such as "yes sir" or "on it".

The amount of voices confused her. There were so many yet in some way they sounded like the same person. She didn't understand what the manly voice could of meant by saying "patient". What event would have happened earlier that caused her to become a patient? This completely perplexed her.

The manly voice spoke again, "Procedure complete." This was followed by silence until he spoke again, "One of you go get the boss and bring him in here."

She just laid there, she thought it would be best to just wait for the "boss", but what else would she of done? She can't move and she can't feel anything. All she knew was that she was utterly trapped until someone came to help her or she regained the ability to move and feel.

About five minutes passed by (or that's just what it felt like to her) until she heard loud footsteps, which she believed to be the "boss's".

"Has she woken up yet?" The voice said.

Yes, she concluded, for this had to be the boss! The voice was much louder, deeper, and much more serious than the voices she heard earlier.

"She hasn't seemed to move, and hasn't tried to say anything, but the dose of anesthesia we gave her should have worn off by now."

The loud footsteps got closer to her. She knew that the man she suspected to be the "boss" was coming towards her. He was now right next to whatever she was laying on top of.

In a much softer tone, the voice that belonged to the "boss" spoke, "Violet are you awake?"
