"Tri-light is great." Lynn argued.
"Donna, choose me, I'm Elric, I'm dark but I also glitter. No, choose me, I'm Joseph, and I lost my shirt." Lucy mocked. Then added. "Yeah, riveting."
Lynn not being one to back down, but also not willing to bring up points she already deemed lost causes, went with a different tactic.
"Oh, Danny, even though we're brothers I love you, also, stop loving me, Jerk. But, Sean, what's the point of saving the world without you, Bitch. Guys, I'm back from the dead, again, also we messed up, again, and we need to get my Angel Wings back, again. Yeah, ParaNatural's way better. At least I have standards." Lynn barked back.
Lucy snorted and said. "Standards the think Tri-light is even half as good as ParaNatural can kiss my a-"
Lori interrupted with: "Lucy... No swearing, wait till you're older." Then she went back to texting.
Lucy and Lynn shared a glare before huffing and eating breakfast. Putting their heated argument on hold.
"Aw, man. Only scraps." Lincoln said. Walking in the dinning room, seeing what's left of the cooked meal. "Cereal it is." He muttered, turning and heading the kitchen.
After getting cereal, he sat down, started eating, and glanced around the table.
Lori was wearing a tight blue T-shirt and small jean jacket, he couldn't see, but he's guessing she's also wearing jean jeggings. She was typing away at her phone with a semi-bored expression.
Leni was wearing light green dress with a (useless) belt, triple checking her assignments, before pulling out a fashion magazine.
Luna was wearing a purple long sleeved (rolled up to her elbows) shirt with a band logo on it, with her earbuds in, you could hear her (loudly) tap her boots to the rhythm.
Luan was wearing a yellow T-shirt, with a bad pun on it, and (probably) a black skirt, chuckling at jokes on her phone.
Lynn was wearing a sports jersey and shorts, her choice of clothing always confusing Lincoln. She says she always wants to be prepared, yet she changes for any physical activity.
Lucy was wearing black and white striped long sleeved shirt, a black skirt, and her (homemade) Charm bracelets, her black hair trapped to the left side of her face with a hair clip.
Lynn's and Lucy's argument took up most their attention, they still had full plates.
Lana was probably off playing with Lola, they eat fast every day, so they had more time to play, or watch some kids show.
Lincoln glances into the living room. 'Yup.' He thought. There they were, on the floor, in front of the screen.
Lana sitting criss-cross, in her school overalls with a blue shirt underneath. Her hands mindlessly playing with her FusionFormers action figure.
Lola was wearing a pink shirt and glittery pink skirt. Laying on her stomach lazily kicking her feet, chin rested on her bare palms.
'Only two more.' He thought, turning back around.
Lisa's basically dressed the same... As always, she only has about eight pairs of the same clothes. Like Lincoln. Now, back to her apparel, she's wearing her round glasses, baggy green turtleneck and baggy burgundy? Maroon? Whatever, pants. She's reading a book, despite being four years old she has a highschool level intellect. Her biggest hobby is learning, and she's great at recognizing patterns.
"Lincoln, are you done with your third person, point-of-view, inner-monologue?" She asked, closing her book.
"Not yet, went off topic for a moment." He answered.
Lily was pouting about wearing her clothes, a purple onesie with lily patterns. Not even being a toddler yet, meant she stayed home with Rita, their mother, most of the day.
"Done." He said, finishing his bowl. "What do you need, Lisa?"
"Lynn and Lucy had another argument. For Lynn I suspect puberty related hormones, for Lucy I'm thinking a need to defend her opinions. Since, they're both stubborn, I fear this might last a while. That is, if you don't step in. I recommend you discuss it in the van, we're about to leave."
"KIDS! SIX-FIFTY!" Lynn Sr. shouted from his room.
"GOT IT, DAD!" Lori responded. Then turning her phone off with a sigh, she started rounding everyone to the van.
"Fill me in, while we walk." Lincoln says to Lisa.
Lincoln sat in the van, between Lynn and Lucy, finishing up his thoughts he says. "Your arguments are stupid."
Both turning to glare at him, daring him to repeat that.
"I said your argument's stupid. If you ask me, you both rather argue then lose. Tri-light is a romance, focusing on teen love. Lucy isn't going to enjoy it, period. ParaNatural is about family and a never ending search for peace, of course 'never ending' means if you haven't started at the beginning you'll be lost. Lynn has likely only seen clips that confuse her. There, boom, argument over, both of you lost. now what's really the problem?"
After saying that Lincoln waited for some reaction, about five minutes later, Lucy spoke.
"She called me 'Emo freak', so I called her a Bitch, after more arguing we eventually landed on something we both felt strongly about. If you want to know something before that, ask her."
"Lynn?" Lincoln prods.
After sighing she says. "We were arguing about our room, you know 'creepy stuff there' and 'sporty stuff here'. I've been having a hard week, so it felt good to blame someone for something. I may have went too far, then it was to late to jump ship without looking like a coward."
Thinking it through, Lincoln decided how help resolve their problem. "Yeah, Lynn, your mostly in the wrong. You misplaced your anger, then instead of apologizing, you took the easy route. Words hurt Lynn, especially from family."
Lincoln was the only person who could talk to her like that. Anyone else and she would have thought that their own motives, or didn't know her as well as he did. His motive was 'help my sisters' it's the only thing he does, he knew her and Lucy. They were best friends, Lori has Leni, Luna has Luan, Lana has Lola, Lisa has Lily. And they had each other, they were the middle children, Lynn, Lincoln, and Lucy
So, Lynn let his words seep in. He was right, she let her emotions out on Lucy, she saw the look in her eyes afterwards. And now she kept going, instead of admitting defeat, instead of saying sorry.
She sighs again, then clears her throat, she was giving up, but that's not entirely true. If she won she would lose her sister, her friend. That doesn't sound like a good prize, and it isn't, it's the price.
"Lucy, I'm sorry, for mocking you and your choices. I'm sorry, for not saying sorry sooner. I'm sorry, for being blinded by my pride." Lynn apologizes. Then asked. "Can you forgive me?"
After a minute of contemplating, Lucy responds with. "Thank you, and I'm sorry, too. I'm sorry, for losing my cool and overreacting. Sorry, for dragging it out, instead of dropping it. So, yes, you're forgiven, I hope you can forgive me."
"Yeah, no problem." Lynn says happily.
"Now I feel left out. I'm sorry for butting into your business, you girls clearly had it handled. Could you forgive me too?" Lincoln mirthfuly adds.
"Your forgiven." Lucy says, then adds. "Sorry for making you feel left out. Please forgive me."
"Me too, I'm sorry, I beg forgiveness." Lynn bows her head in mock shame.
Lincoln chuckles and drags his sisters into a group hug. "Everyone's forgiven! Isn't it grand." After saying that, his sisters also laugh and hug back.
Then a teary pride filled voice calls out. "I'm also sorry kids! But we've been at your school for a while, and I couldn't break up such a moment." Their dad sniffles. "And now your late, because time goes by so fast!" He starts breathing faster. "Look how grown up you all are. It felt just yesterday you were all born!" He's openly crying now. "Everyone grows up so quick!"
After asking If their dad was okay enough to drive, backfired ("And responsible!"). They told him to take care, and left for the front office. After getting their tardy slips, they split up, and headed to their classes.
His answer to Clyde's question on why he was late was: "Sorry sisters and proud papa Loud."
Clyde sits to Lincoln's left and shares most of Lincoln's hobbies. They were best friends.
"Hey, Dorks." A voice called out, dragging the boys attention to the front of Lincoln desk, the one belonging to Ronnie Anne Santiago.
"Hey, Ronnie, finished your homework?" Lincoln greeted Ronnie Anne. As she will ignore everything till she was done.
"Yea, yesterday's math sucked." Ronnie Anne said nodding her head.
"If you spent more time paying attention, instead of 'defending your rep', it wouldn't so hard, Jerk." Clyde said.
"I'm not a dorkmat, like you. I only end fights, never start them." She defended.
Clyde and Lincoln were Dorks, but they were the only people to befriend the Jerk, that was Ronnie Anne.
She was a transfer student, who did what she wanted. Of course she also didn't trust anyone who lied, about anything.
And she had gotten paired up with Clyde for a project. The way Clyde was raised, honestly and loyalty was also very important to him.
Being paired up they butted heads at first, but eventually gotten to know each other enough to hang-out afterwards. Then he introduced her to Lincoln, who after getting over his initial surprise, was slowly able to gain her trust.
"Attention class! Your ten minutes are up, everyone sit down, so we can start today's lesson."
This was mainly a prologue.*Spoilers and info dump below.*
First of all, I changed their outfits to be more school appropriate. And to show you that somethings aren't a part of their personalities.
I'm talking about things like
Leni's sunglasses. Even if I didn't say it, they're absent.
Luan's squirt flower.
Lucy's hair isn't covering her eyes.
Lana doesn't wear her red cap everywhere.
Lola only wear her 'Princess' outfit for dress-up.
Lily being a baby is forced to wear clothes.
Second, their personalities.
Lori isn't bossy, she too busy being a teenager. She has a crush on Bobby, but doesn't think they have time for it. So, they're just friends.
Leni isn't a retard who makes dresses. She's just a forgetful person who enjoys fashion.
Luna isn't a crazy musical prodigy. She's just a big fan of music, who admires Musicians.
Luan only plays the occasion prank(nothing elaborate) or repeats a funny joke she read. In her spare time she learnt juggling. That's about the extent of her talents.
Lynn is only on the Soccer team, but she still lives an active lifestyle.
Lincoln is the same, just slightly different, because he wasn't influenced by his sister much.
Lucy isn't 'Miss Doom and Gloom', she's just a mature eight year old, with a love for creepy and scary supernatural related things.
Lana plays with toys, she can't repair things around the house. And she wears different overalls to avoid being dirty all day. School overalls; for things she might spill or smudge. Outside overalls; for mud and grass stains. Dinner overalls; for food stains.
Lola plays dress-up, she doesn't complete in pageants, she also prefers to play make-believe.
Lisa doesn't have any PhDs, yet. She has a great brain, and is learning more things everyday. She spends time reading and writing, instead of experimenting.
Lily, because she's a baby, she will be treated as such.
Clyde, he wasn't coddled by his dads, so he's bolder.
Ronnie Anne isn't a bully, she just a kid that had a rough life, so she got tough enough to take care of herself.
Third, Loudcest.
Kinda?
Lynn's starting puberty, Lincoln's puts family above all, and Lucy has a possessive sorta-crush.
But at the same time, I've always hated 'Love' stories, that make people soul mates.
"Oh, everything's perfect, and nothing can get in our way."
So, basically they might find someone else, or not. Doesn't really matter.
Lynn might have urges, doesn't mean she has to act on them.
Lincoln might not be able to tell the difference between the kinds of love, he feels. But that's it, he doesn't notice.
Lucy might be having weird thoughts, but to her that's a matter of perspective, all she knows is her brother understands her better than anyone else, and she doesn't want to lose him.
Luna and Luan might have 'Experimented', but it could've been forgotten.
Oh, and if Lola and Lana had a crush on Lincoln. It would be the: "Aw, that's cute." Kind.
Lastly, I'm trying to make a story about Life, so things might happen.
There might be mentions of something terrible, something tragic might occur. Possibly something Fluffy shows up, or some soap opera level of drama. Maybe nothing happens.
This is a Slice of Life, but it's also Fiction. If Aliens or Demons invade, they'll just have to deal with it.
Thanks for reading. Review you thoughts.
Bonus;
This section will be used to give special mentions, on things that might need emphasis on. This time only, I'll explain them.
Tri-light.
Lynn's favorite movie, is about a teen girl torn between two lovers, after being introduced to something she hadn't expected.
This is a parallel for her current state. After being thrown into puberty, she's torn between someone she shouldn't love, and (for some of you) some mystery man, who has a body she's attracted too.
ParaNatural.
Lucy's favorite show, is about two siblings sticking together, and Subtext.
She feels like if she was in the same situation with Lincoln, she could definitely give everything up for him, and knows he would do the same. And, Subtext.
FusionFormers.
Lana is a kid, things seem bigger for her. So, a bully, she keeps secret, could feel like a galactic evil to her.
