So, I've been having struggles trying to write multi-chapter stories. I've always wrote stories around one single scene that plays out in my mind. Everytime I try to write up until that point, I get stumped and that's it. It's getting to that point of satisfaction, writing that one part that I really want to get to that's stopping me from creating more around it. So, for now on, I'm mostly just going to focus on short and sweet one shot stories. Writing has always been and will continue to be a stress reliever for me. I hope you can still enjoy my one shots for what they are. Especially this first one.

It was a quiet early morning in Sunrise Springs. Spyro and Sheila were on vacation with some of the baby dragons. The sun was just beginning to rise as one of the hatchlings, Izzy, jerked awake, unfortunately, from a nightmare. She rolled off of the group of hatchlings she was sleeping on and began to cry. Sheila was woken up by Izzy's whimpering and pulled her closer to snuggle her. "Hey, it's ok now Iz... I'll make sure you don't have another nightmare like that again." She whispered. Izzy calmed down and purred against the motherly marsupial.

Izzy was an orphaned dragon who Sheila had taken in. Spyro was glad to see that they were happy together. As the sun rose the rest of the little ones woke up. Today would be a fun one, as the hatchlings were going to Seashell Shores to learn how to swim! Once the hatchlings had had breakfast, the group started heading for the portal. They arrived and greeted one of the seals that would be assiting in teaching the dragons. "We actually have a special area for the hatchlings to practice. It's a work-in-progress, but I think they'll enjoy it!" Exclaimed the seal. Everyone had made it to the pool. It wasn't too big nor too small. "Alright, before we get to swimming, let's get started with some warmups!" Announced Spyro. He began leading basic stretches, which went well until he said "Now stretch those backs as much as you can!" In which one of dragons, Alex, was in the middle of stretching when he accidentally... "blew" a few bubbles from his backside. The rest of them giggled and let out sounds of disgust. Alex just stood there, mortified. "Alright, I think that's enough stretching..." Declared Spyro.

Now that the young ones were warmed up, the instructor lined them up at one end of the pool. "Ok! Were gonna hop in one at a time and swim all the way to the other end." She explained. Sheila and Spyro would swim alongside the dragons to help them if they had trouble. With each hatchling they'd shown them how to paddle with there four paws. Everything seemed to be going well. Finally, it was Izzy's turn. She was a little more nervous than the others and hesitated to set one foot into the water. "Don't be scared, Izzy." said Sheila. "Here, let mum help you." She pick up Izzy and set her gently down in the water. "Now just kick you paws back and forth like Spyro." Izzy slowly started moving her legs and she started to become more confident. "Do you think you can do it without Mum?" Asked Sheila. Izzy nodded and Sheila carefully let go of her. "Just swim all the way over there, ok? I wait for you on the sand." Izzy started for the shore. She paddled and paddled. The small dragon felt more capable of swimming now more than ever. Izzy was just about to reach Sheila when she lost focus on her movement and started to drift in the opposite direction. At this point she started panicking, kicking her legs rapidly trying to reach her mother. It got to the point where the distressed hatchling started to go under. "Mommy!!!!" She screeched in her tiny voice. The instructor seal dove in after her. Sheila was almost in a panic attack herself seeing Izzy almost drowning. The instructor grabbed Izzy and brought her to shore. Izzy, still wet, ran to her mother in tears and lept into her pouch, curling up. The poor dragon was shaking, traumatized. Sheila rubbed Izzy, trying to calm her down. "Ok everyone, I think that's enough for today. Let's head back to the springs." announced Spyro. Sheila carried Izzy in her pouch back to the portal.

Later that night, when the others were asleep, Sheila looked inside to see how Izzy was doing. "Izzy, baby... are you okay? You must be hungry." The baby dragon slowly peeped halfway out of Sheila's pouch. The kangaroo grabbed a nearby apple and fed it to the tired hatchling. Izzy nibbled on it, making occasional cute squeak noises. After she was done, Izzy layed her head against Sheila's fuzzy tummy. The marsupial cuddled her and stroked her back. Izzy slowly closed her eyes and drifted off to sleep. Sheila whispered to her in a motherly tone,

Night night, Isabelle...
