Bump in the night.
It was night in the hidden leaf village and it was calm and quiet. Naruto Uzumaki lay in his hospital bed wide awake, his thoughts turning around and around in his head, keeping him awake.
He got up out of the bed turned on the light and made his way to the window. He lent his head against the cool glass and looked out at the village lights. He had just come back from defeating Kakuzu and Sakura was making him stay in the hospital due to his damaged arm.
Although he was happy about defeating one of the Akatsuki what good was it if it damaged him too? He was never going to catch up to Sasuke at this rate!
Just then to the left of his head there was a loud thunk on the window. He was so focused on his thoughts that the noise made him jump out of his skin. He jumped back from the window making a high pitched yelp and promptly fell on his arse.
"What the hell" he said to himself looking back up at the window, but there was nothing there. The blonde ninja got to his feet and looked around behind him, and as soon as his head was turned the noise happened again, he whipped his head back to the window but again there was nothing there, just the black of the night.
He was more than a little freaked out by now and ghost! was the prominent thought in his head. He was staring fixedly at the window with eyes opened wide unblinking. He was determined to not miss the source of the noise this time.
And then he did see it. Thunk… Thunk, thunk.
A moth was throwing its self at the window, attracted by the light coming from within the room.
"Well… shit" the blonde said to himself, a friggin moth! At least there was no one around to witness my temporary lack of testicles. Happy with the thought that one would ever know and he could forget the whole thing, he turned back to his bed only to catch the glint of something on the other side of the room. He looked over and found him self looking right into the eye of Kakashi. Ah I forgot he was here.
"How long have you been awake?"
"Long enough" the silver haired man replied, amusement clear in his voice.
…
"Dam it!"
Just a odd one shot I had in my head and decided to write out.
