Summary: Written for this prompt. Whenever he gets drunk Sherlock would always think John is his favorite lost childhood toy and would do things like hug him and tell him how they're going on adventures. Drunk Sherlock would always become the child he once was as he curls up with John in bed and tells him stories and says things like, "We'll always be together, won't we? You'll protect me from the stupid people who are mean to me, won't you?"

This will not be a normal night. John knew that the moment his eyes fell on his flatmate. Sherlock was tripping over his own feet, hair a huge mess and mumbling incoherent sentences. John's first thought was Sherlock has been drugged. The idea made him jump from his chair and hurry to hold his friend before Sherlock hit the floor. But when he reached Sherlock's side, the idea of a drug vanished and the smell of scotch hit him hard. Sherlock was drunk.

John was shocked. He never saw Sherlock drunk or even half drunk, he wasn't a heavy drinker and only drinks on special occasions. He wondered what happened for Sherlock to go out and drink himself to this!

"Alright. Take it easy now." John said dragging his friend to his room.

"I am fine. fine.." And Sherlock kept repeating the same words laughing with no apparent reason.

"Sure you are. You're always fine," John chuckled dropping him to the bed. "But you'll have one hell of a headache in the morning."

"pff, headaches are boring. Teddy on the other hand is never boring." Sherlock said looking at John with a cheeky grin on his face.

"Teddy?"

"Yes. Mr. Teddy"

"Who is Mr. Teddy?" John said amused.

"You!" John was shocked for the second time that night when Sherlock grabbed him into a hug. He was stunned for a moment to do something, but Sherlock's next words brought him into action.

"You'll never leave me right, Mr. Teddy. You'll protect me from stupid and mean people," John's heart broke from Sherlock's childish and lost tone. "They think they're better, but I know they're stupid and always will be. I don't need them, I have you."

John's hand were around Sherlock hugging him back while the other on his friend's head. "Yes, I'll protect you from mean people. I'll always protect you."

Sherlock's looked at him with the same childish smile then jumped back into his bed babbling about all of the adventures they'll be doing together. John just chuckled and listen to him until Sherlock started to yawn and his eyes closing.

"Go to sleep, Sherlock." John said laying him down. He was about to leave when Sherlock's hand took hold of his arm, he looked down to see a frowning Sherlock looking at him.

"Mr. Teddy sleeps here!"

"Mr. Teddy got his own room to sleep in."

"No! Mr. Teddy always sleep with me to protect me."

John sighed, but he couldn't say no to his friend especially now with him so vulnerable. He kicked his shoes and climbed to bed next to Sherlock who snuggled close. He smiled and rested his head on the headboard, he'll stay here until he is sure Sherlock is asleep and will not wake up when he leaves. John knew if Sherlock woke up to find him sleeping next to him, he'll panic. So, better avoid that.

The next morning Sherlock got up with a bad headache and black mood. John didn't say anything about the night before, but the look Sherlock gave him was definitely a thank you look. They never talked about it, but every time Sherlock is out drinking for any reason, John would be waiting at home knowing he'll be Mr. Teddy for another night.
