Disclaimer: I don't own Tonks and Lupin... I wish I did. Stupid DH... Which I loved, yet hated equally. Anyway... Onto the sotry.

Remus had always been fond of muggle tools. He liked the way they felt in his hands, as he was doing… well, things at required tools. Tonks was well aware of this fact which was why, when she arrived home after a day at the office she was not surprised to see Remus near their doorway, with his toolbox out. (She had also been, needless to say, been very pleased to fine that he'd also taken off his shirt.)

What surprised Tonks was that they no longer had a door. Approaching the house she'd thought that it was just open… Nope. There was her door- their propped up against a green sofa. And there was another door - one that she didn't recognize leaning up against the staircase.

Merlin's beard… had he got them a new door? And was he really trying to put it up by hand?

"Hello," he smiled softly, upon seeing her. She smiled back and looked from him to the new door to the old door and back to him and then to the toolbox, "I got a new door!" he smiled, and Tonks returned it.

"I see," she said, obviously pleased at getting a new door, though still a little wary that he was putting it up without magic.

Remus looked a bit less happy at her not bouncing off the walls happiness. He would have thought that she'd been much happier to see the new door. After all Dora had always said she wanted a door with windows. And that was why he had spent the whole day searching for a new door. One that she would love. Anything for Dora.

"You don't like it?" he asked, looking down like a child being scolded.

"No!" Dora protested, "It's just that… you're putting it up by hand,"

He looked up, a bit confused as to why this mattered. Then he remembered. Remus Lupin was smart, lacking in confidence and graceful. Except when it came to tools, as Dora had told him any times. Around tools Remus locked the know-how and the grace… but he was very confident. Too confident, really. No matter how many times he'd failed at using them before, no matter how many times he'd had to resort to magic in the end Remus sincerely believed that the next time would be when he finally got a hang of it.

"I think I can manage," he told her, smiling, and holding her hand.

"Just as I can manage cooking," Tonks told him raising her eyebrows. Remus pursed his lips. Dora's cooking was awful. He ate it still, but…

"I love you," he said, hopefully.

"I love you too, however," she paused for dramatic effect, Remus closed his eyes, smiling, "I would like to have the door up within the next decade," she told him kindly, kissing him on the nose.

Remus opened his eyes and gave her a kiss on the lips which sent shivers down his spine even though he'd done it many, many time before.

"So unless you want me to cook dinner, I suggest you take out your wand and use it," she told him simply, smiling as she (reluctantly) moved form his embrace and towards the kitchen, tripping over thin air as she went.

A smile formed over his lips as he took out his wand and straightened out the mess.

He'd use his wand for home repair is she wanted.

After all, anything for Dora.

Fin! Please reveiw. I'll love you if you do!
