Wonderwall
You built walls around yourselves, impenetrable and towering, like the walls of an ancient castle.
It got so dark in your man-made prison that all you could see was the pink of Sirius' lips, the maroon and gold of his lopsided tie, the grayish-brown of his broomstick and the deep black of his hair.
You built your wall so no one could see in, so you could be safe, because no one could understand, not even Prongs with his obsessions and his talk about 'friends no matter what'.
Behind your wall you could talk about secrets and desires and fears.
"Let's build a little house by a lake, with a rose garden and pictures hanging in the hall," Sirius whispers to you, his hands in your sandy blonde hair, his smell impregnating your clothes.
Your hand touches the curve in his back and you trace the memory of it in the deep recesses of your mind, adding it to the pictures of him.
"I'll bring you cups of tea in the morning and refill the water bottle in the middle of the night," you reply, your eyes closed against the hollow in his neck.
You were aware of his leg twisted amongst your own, locked together you shivered and swayed, hidden behind the wonderwall.
--
Albus Dumbledore tried to make you have a cup of tea.
You stared at a point somewhere above his head, your hands burning on the sides of the cup, your feet falling into the floor, your eyes betraying your emotions by a river of salty tears.
"Everyone grieves Remus."
(You built a wall)
"Here have a ginger newt," Albus thrusts a plate towards you but you can't see it, your eyes linger on that spot, that strangely out of focus, blurry mess of a spot above his head.
"We need to protect Harry now, Remus."
"Fuck Harry."
The words fall out of your red and swollen lips, anger seethes in you like it use to in him.
"What about me Albus? What the fuck about me?"
(The wall falls down)
--
I don't believe that anybody feels the way I do,
About you now.
And all the roads that lead you there are winding,
And all the lights that light the way are blinding.
There are many things I'd like to say to you,
But I don't know how.
Because maybe, you're going to be the one who saves me
And after all, you're my wonderwall.
