So this is just a short Creddie drabble. It's also my first post under my new penname, which was really just a switch from Keytapper to my name. Anyways, I hope you like it, despite how much it lacks in length.
They ran down the hall hand-in-hand. Both of their hearts were pounding and Freddie felt slightly guilty for feeling pleasure from her touch. It was too serious of a situation to let his emotions put Carly first, but he had trouble holding himself to that standard. This doesn't mean she likes you, he thought, she's just upset and needs a hand to hold. But that didn't stop him from hoping. Before he could command himself to set his mind on the right track, they saw her.
"Sam!" Carly cried as she ran forward, pulling Freddie along with her.
Sam stepped back and from Carly's expression, she might as well have slapped her best friend in her face.
"Are you two like⦠dating again?" Sam asked through tearful eyes, gesturing to the interlocked hands.
"No," the accused said at the same time.
"Well you should. The fans would be happy, especially now that iCarly is down to only two members."
"Why are you doing this Sam?"
"Why? Because of what you said."
"I didn't mean it," Carly sobbed, "I love you no matter if you're gay, bisexual, or straight. I didn't know you were questioning your sexuality. I was just joking! You didn't tell me! I'm sorry, ok? It was rude and I shouldn't have said it even if I only knew straight people! Melanie being gay and that making you question yourself shouldn't end our friendship!"
"Goodbye Carly," Sam said coolly, and then she walked away.
It was just the two of them, Carly and Freddie. They just had each other.
They held hands all the way back to Carly's apartment. Like always, their affectionate embrace was forgotten the next day. Sam came back. Freddie should've been happy, but instead, he just felt empty.
