Chapter 1 – Sadness and Tension

Year X785 – Harujion Harbor

"It just makes you feel hopeless, doesn't it?" Bisca said with a sad, helpless expression on her face.

Alzack turns his head slightly to see his close friend and crush, Bisca Mulan. He stared at her long, green hair, her brownish purple eyes, and her red lips for awhile before turning his attention back to the sea.

"Those guys were the best of the best. I just couldn't think of anything bad happening to them. Every time that our guild was in trouble, they were always there to save us. In the end, they always pulled through for us. But now…" He cuts himself off and shuts his eyes momentarily.

"Yeah, I know. It's just so hard to believe." Bisca said walking up to him and putting her hand on his shoulder. "But, you know what? I don't think they'd like it if we just kept sulking like this, right?" Bisca said while looking at his face.

"I guess you're right, it has been one long year full of disappointment. Even with all our efforts so far, we still couldn't find anyone or Tenrou island." Alzack said before finally walking away to the direction of the guild with Bisca right beside him.

"Where the heck were you guys?" Macao asked as soon as they walked in.

"We were just staring out into the sea." Alzack replied solemnly.

At hearing this, Macao's expression was filled with dismay. After awhile, he finally let out a long, exasperated sigh. "We just have to keep believing." He said quietly. It was like he was trying to make himself believe his own words.

"They're never coming back, aren't they?" With this all heads turned to the slim, young boy with spikey, dark hair.

"Romeo, we all need to remain positive." Macao responded.

"What is there to be positive about?" Romeo yelled. "Our guild is in tatters and is being replaced, we've lost our most powerful comrades, and we're being bullied by idiots! This is not how it's supposed to be." He said while shaking his head. "Fairy Tail used to be the strongest guild in all of Magnolia! But now we're nothing but a laughing stock!" He said before running outside.

Everyone, shocked at his words, just looked at the ground. After a long moment of silence, Macao finally said, "I apologize for my son's rude behav…"

"You don't have to apologize." Wakaba said. "We're all going through a hard time. Losing so many comrades at one time while facing so many other problems have put us all on edge. Let's just let it go."

At his words, everyone just slowly nodded their heads with solemn faces.

Romeo's right. Before our guild was known not only in Magnolia but also in all of Fiore, but now everything is just so different. Natsu, Erza, Gray, everyone. Help us! Alzack thought, clenching his fists.

OK, so I know that I'm probably supposed to be working on my Vampire Knight fanfic instead but after reading the latest chapters of Fairy Tail, I just couldn't resist. This is basically my depiction of events that I think happened during the time Natsu and the others were missing. At first, this was just going to be a oneshot but now I really don't want to just end it here. So I decided to put Chapter 1 at the top just in case I do decide to write more for this. In either case, I hope you guys enjoy this. :3
