AN:CARIN: Just in case anybody thought that maybe I'd finally stopped writing fanfics where Sophie died, I have not, but I mean hey she doesn't die in cracks in the glass. Probably. I wouldn't trust me not to. *laughs nervously*.

Writing prompt: .ca/pin/600738037766275695/ (it's a pretty long one so here's the link.)

Sophie Lay in the dark alleyway, trying to sit up against a wall. There wasn't enough time for her to get help, she was dying and maybe had five minutes left. She didn't even really know which of the forbidden cities she was in, and she doubted someone could take a leaping crystal to directly where she was, she was under a, oh what were they called, invisibility things ( not remembering things, that had to be blood loss) so no one would be able to find her and take her to a human hospital, they would ask too many questions anyway. Even though she couldn't call for help there was one thing she could do. She covered her wound with her cape and sat up as straight as possible. The wall behind her looked just enough like one of the caves at Havenfield that she might be able to convince her cognate that everything was truly fine, that she just wanted to see him, not because it would be the last time, just because she did. Of course, she did want to see him because it would be the last time she ever did, but she didn't want him to know that. She just wanted one last conversation with him. She pulled out her imparter.

" Show me Fitz Vacker," she mumbled, Fitz appeared on the imparter almost immediately. Sophie put on a fake happy face, hoping Fitz couldn't see through it. "Hi, Fitz,"

Fitz smiled back, then frowned.

"What's wrong," he asked her.

"Nothing, just tired," she lied wrapping the cape around her wound more, she maybe had two minutes left now,

"I love you," she told him. He looked at her confused.

"I love you too." he responded. Sophie looked at him for a while, begging herself not to cry, to let them have their last conversation be happy.

"Like a lot." she clarified. Fitz looked at her concerned.

"You're sure you're fine?" he asked. Sophie nodded and bit back her tears for a minute. She could barely feel her body anymore and her vision was getting blurry,

"I have to go, but I love you, a lot, and I'm sorry I don't have time to tell you what for, but again, I love you, goodbye Fitz," Fitz started to form words but she hung up the imparter before he could ask any more questions. She collapsed to the side and held her cognate rings to her chest. She didn't want to die yet, but she didn't have much choice in the matter. She choked out a couple of sobs before her body went numb, and she fell asleep, never to wake up again.

An: Carin: *continues nervous laughter*. Yay? That was at least a pretty short death of Sophie Foster, only one page, instead of my usual a thousand word minimum. Also remember when I said I was going to finish my poetry series and then that never happened, well I still have no ideas for the Teefe poem so, that's going to take awhile. Also near the end the paragraphs are weird, because my phone is stupid. Well,

That's a wrap,

Bye!
