Pearl of the sea
Chapter 1
In a water filled room, full of spongy sea beds, lay a beautiful young mermaid that goes by the name of Cleo. Her orange tail was sagging radiantly off the edge of the bed and she was snoring lightly. Her snores sounded like a soft humming of a bird. Her well nourished hair lay widely spread on her soft plump pillow. Cleo was just a mere 16 year old girl who had many years ahead of her. A gleaming orange light beamed through the curtains and into her cobalt orbs. This caused her to stir and wriggle about, her eyes scrunched – trying to block it out. Slowly, opening her beautiful blue eyes, she put her hand in the way to block the light. She had indeed woken up. With a soft groan, she sat up roughly and stretched letting out a loud yawn of tiredness. Suddenly the door swung open swiftly revealing a pleased looking Emma. Her blond hair swaying from side to side.
"Morning Cleo! Was your sleep alright?" she asked graciously while running her fingers through her fine hair.
"Well" Cleo began while floating off her duvet "I was woken up by a dreadful light, how about you?!" Cleo snapped – clearly not a morning person. Emma jumped at her sudden outburst but looked past it and replaced her shocked face with a friendly smile.
"Whoa, calm down, I came here to tell you about this lush new boy in our class" she giggled while dazing off into a daydream. She sighed – it had been a while since she had seen a boy she really liked.
"What's he like?" Cleo asked while swimming over to her mirror.
"He's handsome alright! Well, this isn't what I came here for" she swam over to her grumpy friend who was putting on her make up. "It seems, your dad's thrown you a ceremony for your 16th birthday! Good luck there!" Emma laughed while swimming out of the room with great speed.
"What?!" Cleo wailed while dropping her comb on the ground. "My dad threw me a WHAT?!" she stared at the door in awe…My father is terrible at ceremony's! They always go terribly wrong...She screamed in her head while frowning. Today wasn't going to be a good day.
