Chapter 1

"Leave him alone." Lilly Evans shouted while glaring towards the sky. It was a beautiful summer's day, one that most Hogwarts students were spending out side enjoying themselves. However there was one student in particular who was not enjoying himself at all, Servus Snape was currently dangling upside down several feet in the air, his graying underpants visible for all to see.

"Who wants to see me take off Snivelly's pants?"

The small crowd that had gathered to watch Snape's misfortune cheered as James Potter begins to lift the trembling boy higher. James smirked as Serveus franticly attempted to keep his struggling underpants on his body, just as it seamed Snape would lose the struggle James found himself jerked into the air floating along side his horrified victim.

"What the hell is going on?" he wondered out loud as he searched the ground for his attacker all the while attempting to cover himself up.

"Nice boxers prongs!" James heard shouted from below. Looking toward the noise he spotted Sirius smirking next to a shocked Pettigrew and a rather attractive brunette girl with her wand raised in the air.

"I would appreciate it if you could let me down." He shouted down to her as he rose higher and higher. The girl simply smirked, showing no desire to give into his request.

"Come on we were just having a bit of fun" James said nervously.

"Let him down first" The girl replied glancing toward Snape.

"Fine" He huffed as Servus went tumbling toward the ground. The girl took her wand off James and he too plummeted towards the ground.

Servus quickly got up and stormed away towards the castle, his robes billowing ominously behind him as the girl walked leisurely towards the lake. James pulled himself off the ground and went stomping after her. He quickly caught up to her and using her arm turned her around to face him.

"What was that about?" He growled.

"I'm just sick of seeing you pick on people all the time." She answered calmly.

James looked at her in bewilderment. 'Sick of seeing me pick on people, I haven't even seen this girl once in my entire life!' "Who are you!"

"Alex, Alex Thomas" She said clearly, sticking out her hand with a smirk on her face. He ignored her hand which she quickly dropped and looked at her skeptically. His eyes paused upon noticing the Gryffindor patch on her robes.

"Funny I've never seen you around before"

"Well maybe that's because you don't see much of anything. The only thing you really pay attention to is that Lilly Evens." And with that she turned away and continued her journey toward the lake where she sat herself down.

James just stood where he was and scowled at her retreating back. 'How dare she do that to me, to someone she doesn't even know. And what does she know about me and Lilly anyway. Sirius walked up and clapped him on his back Lupin and Peter followed close behind.

"Have a nice conversation with Alex" He asked with a smirk as he looked admiringly towards her form near the lakes edge.

"Lovely" he replied. "Wait, you know her!"

"Well Yeah, We HAVE been going to school with her the past five years."
