Okeys, well I just wanted to upload this cuz it's been sitting on this here lappytop for quite a while and I felt like it needed love. Not much of a plot, might eventually think of one and turn it into a story though.

The day is young, it's the middle of spring and the birds are all dead.
Two ninja stood at the entrance of the village, awaiting the sight of figures in the distance. But, it was already past noon, and no one had arrived. A few brave villagers had gone out into the streets to find their children; the children that had snuck out of their houses, unaware of the danger they could be in. By order of the Kazekage, no man, woman or child was aloud to leave their home until further notice, thanks to a surprise attack by Oto ninja four days ago that had left many dead. He told them that the decree wouldn't last long, only a few days or so. As of yet, there had been no further attempts at attack, and the village had been silent for two days now.
No sounds are heard throughout the village, no bustling streets or children playing, no talking and no walking.
The taller ninja at the entrance looked over to the other. "The other" looked back at him, both worried that there would be no figures, or instead not the ones they were hoping to see. A few teams from Konohagakure were supposed to be making their way to Sunagakure, as they had many ninja ready to fight in case of an attack such as the one Suna had endured. And so, the two ninja waited.
The wind sweeps sand up and away and the sun burns harshly on Sunagakure. The village seems empty.
"Hey Temari, d'you think they were attacked on the way?" Kankurou asked his older sister.
"Probably, but I don't think they're dead or anything. Konoha has strong ninja, they wouldn't be taken down easily." Kankurou sighed and looked back at the vast desert in which they lived.
"Yeah...but I just hope they get here soon. I have this feeling that something bad is gonna happen if they don't."
"Even if they do, something bad is probably going to happen," Temari finished, looking out to the horizon of sand as well.
The residents are hiding in the relative safety of their homes. There are ninja on the lookout, waiting for someone to shout and raise the alarm. But no one does, and it has been hours since sunrise.
The Kazekage sat at his desk, looking out a window in his office, one arm leaning on the desk and one hand supporting his head. He watched the sand as it flew through the air, the wind causing a steady flow of sand to fly over and through the village, creating a small sandstorm. He moved his head to look down at the papers on his desk, his hand now covering his mouth. The war had been going on for only a few long months, and already they were calling for reinforcements from Konoha. Suna had joined in the war when Konoha was attacked by Ame and Kiri.
They are either coming or they aren't.
Gaara had sent several teams of Jounin and Chuunin to Konoha to help with any attacks that may have been made. Tsunade had been sick and Konoha was apparently running low on ninja able to fight, due to several mission mishaps on the ninja's behalves. The Suna teams had been there when Konoha was attacked, and they had fought. Konoha was grateful, but none of the Suna ninja survived. And, now that Konoha was ninja strong again, some of the fighters were being sent over. Gaara sighed lightly and turned to his desk, leaning both arms on it and running his hands through his hair. He felt weak.
