Title: Carrying the Torch
Author: hilaryclaire
Rating: I dunno... PG, I guess.
Pairing: CJ/Toby, with residues of CJ/Simon & Toby/Andrea
Archive: Just tell me where...
Feedback: Is always muchly appreciated, at hilary_claire_@hotmail.com
Disclaims: No, I don't own them. Sure wish I did though; cause then 'my' show would be up for 22 Emmys this year. Go Allison Janney! Go Richard Schiff! How did that get into the disclaimer? Anyways, true ownership belongs to Aaron Sorkin, John Wells Productions, and NBC.

But now the years have passed, and they find themselves together.
She carries a torch for a man she barely knew; a man she yearned to know better, a man she years to know better even now. She knew so little of him, yet sometimes thinks she knew him better than most.
He carries a torch for a woman he once married; a woman he should have known better than any person in the world, but who he knew actually very little about.
And neither torch is for the other, and yet they are together. They both know this, but they never speak about it. Because they both believe, albeit naively, that they will someday be able to let go of their pasts and find true happiness with each other.
