A/N: To make up for being such a son-of-a-bitch with feels and angst, I'm gonna give you something that is still rather feelsy, but happy and so sweet it can rot your teeth. c: This fanfic is based on the song 'Love Song For a Vampire' by Karliene (her music is great, by the way, you should listen to all of her songs) and you can listen to it here: watch?v=uFS565gwd8w

Prologue Part 1 - Lyrics.

"Come into these arms again,

and lay your body down;

The rhythm of this trembling heart

is beating like a drum."

His forget-me-not blue eyes twinkled in the candlelight, an alabaster-white, marble-smooth hand resting upon his chest, the tips of his fingers barely brushing against the caramel waves at his shoulders, secured at his nape by a silver ribbon.

"It beats for you,

It bleeds for you:

It knows not how it sounds.

For it is the drum of drums,

it is the song of songs..."

His voice resonated deep within his body, rumbling like soft thunder, syrupy in consistency, and bitterly sweet. It rang with passion, though was quiet enough to be a whisper in the night, still shining brighter than the glow of the moon. The envious moon was jealous of his love.

"Once I had the rarest rose

that ever deigned to bloom;

Cruel winter chilled the bud

and stole my flower too soon."

His nimble fingers slowly clicked open the pocket-watch at his bedside. The hands ticked steadily on one side, the gentle clicking like that of a metronome, and on the other side was the face of a woman, hand drawn. Her hair reached her shoulders, and was the same colour as his, as he remembered it. Her green eyes glimmered like starlight, smiling peacefully.

"Oh loneliness, oh hopelessness

To search the ends of time...

For there is in all the world

no greater love than mine;"

The blue-eyed man gazed longingly at the portrait, his long dead heart throbbing painfully. How he yearned for her company again, the woman of whom he adored so deeply, the woman who stole his life, heart and mind all of those years ago... He was looking for her, seeking her out of the crowds of the modern day, searching for his long-lost love.

"Love still falls the rain,

Love still falls the night

Be mine forever,

Be mine forever,

Be mine forever...

Be mine forever,

be mine forever,

be mine forever..."

The vampire vowed that should he ever find his love again, he would turn her into one of his own, and he would cherish her for all eternity.

"Let me be the only one

to keep you from the cold

Now the floor of Heaven's lain

with stars of brightest gold;

They shine for you - they shine for you

They burn for all to see.

Come into these arms again,

and set this spirit free..."

He knew that his soul would only be able to peacefully rest once he had found his salvation. Without the object of his affections, he would never be able to move on, neither emotionally, nor into the after-world. He needed her to free him from his earthly bonds, that he could become one with the darkness once more, his heart satisfied, never needing to ache again.
