Regretfully Lonely

Characters: Genesis Rhapsodos, Cissnei, Cissnei's flashlight.
Warning: A bit AU. Kind of depressing, a bit out of character for both. Set during Dirge of Cerberus.
Summary: All she wanted to do was kill his loneliness.
Lonely
"Genesis," she called out as she peered through the craven opening. Her flashlight in her hand, she shone it around a bit, looking for the crimson warrior. "I know you're in here."
"What are you doing?"
"Don't tell me you're not happy to see me, Genesis." She remarked in a dull tone, almost smiling at the thought as the beam of light shone on his sitting form. "There you are."
"You should go."
"Why?"
"You're annoying."
She rolled her eyes, "That's a lie. You enjoy my company, I know it. I'm the only one—"
"Liar." He stop swiftly, cutting off her normal rant to him. "Liar."
"Huh?"
"If I get attached… then when you leave, that lonely feeling will only worsen, my dear Goddess."
Her expression softened as his words sunk in, her eyes staring out at him with sadness. The heart she thought had frozen over seemed to ache and her body slumping a bit. Her voice would come out soft and cracking; "I'm sorry…"
Regret
Days later she peered down the tunnel of the cavern once more, shining her flashlight around the large open area. A frown appeared as the light shone on his sitting form, his shoulders shaking lightly as fathers drifted around him.
She knew of the demons he faced, let she still left him on his own. It wasn't right and never would be. This fact made her heart ping with guilt, although the sight before her caused something far more deadly to show its face.
"I'm back." He didn't move at the sound of her voice, so she advanced slowly behind him and placed her hand onto his shoulder. "Genesis?"
He looked up at her with watery clear blue eyes. Her stomached twisted.
What was this feeling?
Oh yes, regret.
She felt it every time.
Author's Note: Two drabbles. I was going to post them separately but decided against it, because they are somewhat one piece. I showed them to my boyfriend and he was all laughing at me because of how lame they were. However, I'm still posting them because I liked them, and I'm stubborn. Also, for reasons unknown to me, this might be the second best pairing of Crisis Core! WOOT! Haha, enjoy!
