Ginny's ears burned bright red in her sleep.
She was having the Dream again, still as vivid and haunting as the first time, over a week ago. The worst part was that this was no nonsensical vision, but a fantasy so beautiful she never wanted to wake up.
Sooner or later, she always did.
Luna was waiting for her just outside the Great Hall. Her slender nose was stuck inside the latest copy of The Quibbler, upside down as usual.
"Hi Ginny!" she said brightly, not even looking up to see who it was.
"Hey Luna," Ginny replied. "Have you had breakfast yet?"
"No, I was waiting for you," Luna looked up, her blue eyes hazy. Ginny's heart leapt in her chest but was ignored by the headstrong girl. She didn't really feel that way - did she?
It was already busy inside when they entered the Great Hall. Ginny paused by the Ravenclaw table, expecting Luna to go and sit down. Luna just headed on to the Gryffindor table. They sat near Ron and his friends, barely noticing the stares Luna was accumulating. Even Ron shot Ginny an uncomfortable glare. She ignored him.
"What are you reading, Luna?" said Hermione politely.
"The Quibbler. My dad sent it by owl last night," she wore her dreamy, only-half-in-the-moment smile.
"Er, nice," Hermione said awkwardly. Sometimes, the sixth year acted like she was studying Luna, trying to figure her out. She had stopped when Ginny blew up at her a few weeks ago, but she still looked at Luna as if she were an experiment every now and again.
The hum of noise had died down when Luna and Ginny arrived, but it wasn't long until the dull roar regained its strength. Harry Potter was excited about the Quidditch match this weekend. Ron had three assignments due in a few days, and Hermione refused to help him. Neville Longbottom finally remembered where his wand was. The whole time, Ginny and Luna were quiet, one focusing on her magazine, the other on, well, Luna.
