(My very first Prison Break fanfic! I'm watching it on Netflix and this idea came and wouldn't let go.)
Disclaimer: Obviously the characters aren't mine, I'm just borrowing them(:
As Michael walked into the infirmary he saw Dr. Sara Tancredi hunched over her desk crying. He knew that she was trying to hide her tears and that made Michaels heart lurch. He hated seeing any one in pain, especially Sara. Right when the guard uncuffed him and left, Sara got up and started walking away to get his insulin shot. Without hesitating Michael quickly walked over to her and wrapped his inked arms around her. She responded and clung to him as a new wave of tears came.
She sobbed into his shoulder as he murmured words of comfort into her hair. After a long moment she quieted. "Do you want to talk about it?" Michael asked quietly as he drew away to look at her and wipe away a few stray tears.
"It's stupid," she responded.
"Hey, you can tell me,"
"This is the day my mom died," Sara said, "I know it was a long time ago but normally my dad and I spent the day together. Today he blew me off to work and I just feel like he shoved me aside." When she finish Michael just drew her into his arms again and kissed the top of her head.
Sometime later after Sara had given Michael his shot and he left she turned back to her desk and saw a single origami rose. She picked it up and smiled softly to herself. She knew Michael would always be there for her. It was that thought that really made her feel better.
