Rachel sat, lounging on a chair on the Big House's porch. Her feet were propped on the banister that surrounded the porch, and she was clearly deep in thought.

Annabeth, Piper and Katie were on their way to archery when Annabeth saw Rachel. Annabeth suddenly turned in her direction, while Piper and Katie shrugged and followed.

"Something wrong?" Annabeth asked, leaning on the opposite side of the railing.

"Do you know what tomorrow is?" Rachel replied, putting her feet down as Katie and Piper took similar positions next to Annabeth.

"Sunday?" Piper answered, smirking.

Rachel scowled. "It's Mother's Day." There was a chorus of 'Oooooooohhhhhhhh's and mock understanding from the demigoddesses.

"I still don't see a problem," Katie said.

"Well, I've never been very close to my mom, and it seems like nothing I do is ever good enough for her."

"Tell me about it," The three girls said in unison.

Rachel rolled her eyes. "Yes, yes. The poor little girls have immortal mothers. If I recall correctly, your mother broke ancient laws to help Percy save you." Annabeth blushed. "Yours is not only the goddess of love, but spoke to you in a dream, helped you on a quest, and gave you, Jason and Leo new clothes." Piper looked at the ground sheepishly. "And yours sends you a box of cereal on every holiday known to man, even those you don't celebrate, just to make sure you're healthy." Katie smiled. "Mine couldn't care less."

"At least you get to see your mom on a regular basis," Annabeth piped in. "Mine only talks to me if I need to save the world."

"Mine only pays attention to me if she wants to mess with my love life," Piper said.

Katie cleared her throat. "I've never talked to mine."

Clarisse, who was passing by and only half listening, decided to chime in. "I've got you all beat. In the first grade, I gave my mom a handmade mother's day card. She put me in a headlock and stole my lunch money the next day as punishment."

The other four gaped at her.

". . ."

"Dammit, Clarisse! You always win these things!"

Nyahaha, I'm making myself laugh.

Should I make it a two-shot on Father's Day?
