Ronnie rested her elbows on the game shops counter top with her phone in hand, the golden bracelet on her right wrist shone under the shops lighting as her eyes zeroed in on the game of space invaders playing out across the screen and her ears honed in on the bell above the shops door, awaiting the arrival of new customers as she was the only one there and was tasked with watching over the shop whilst Solomon was out getting groceries and Yugi was at school.
She had met the shop owner in Egypt eight years ago, her mother and Solomon had worked on many digs together and Ronnie started to tag along once she was ten years old and deemed old enough by her mother, her love and fascination with Egypt and their ways had blossomed at a very young age.
Their latest dig however, had landed her here, in Domino City, Japan, a long way from her home in Australia that's for sure.
Her mother had grown ill not long after they had returned and had eventually passed away. Solomon, being her mothers closest friend and like a brother to her, had agreed to take her in as she had no other family left.
The first few weeks were awkward to say the least, her and Yugi just didn't seem to click no matter how hard they tried, it wasn't until Yugi had shown her the pieces of The Millennium Puzzle that he had been trying to put together for eight years that they realised they had something in common, their interest in Egypt.
Without even realising, they had stayed up for hours talking, their conversations lingering on the Puzzle and the mini replica charm that hung from the golden bracelet on her wrist and by the time the sun had begun to rise and sleep had overcome them, they had assembled half the puzzle.
A month later she was jolted awake and collided with Yugi's carpet as she fell off the desk chair that she had fallen asleep on after another long night of trying to solve the Millennium Puzzle with little success.
"What the hell Yugi?" She groan whilst nursing her now throbbing head and looked up at the culprit only to gasp and hurry to her feet. "You're not Yugi."
