Spencer was having a cram session in her room. She had a huge French exam tomorrow. She thought her brain was going to explode with conjugations and verbs.
Spencer was so involved with her french book that she didn't even realize that there was a blue eyed boy standing in her doorway.
He softly tapped his knuckles on the door as to not disturb her. He knew better than to disturb her during her study sessions but he couldn't help wanting to see her.
To him, watching her, it was almost amusing. Although she was a bit disheveled, she was still beautiful to him.
Spencer looked up with surprise and met his gaze.
"Toby?" she said with confusion. "What are you doing here?"
"Oh so I need a reason to come visit my girlfriend now?" he said with a smirk.
"Cute" she replied sarcastically. "Im busy right now." she said frustratedly.
Toby knew not to take her harshness to heart when she was studying.
"Spence, how long have you been studying?" Toby said, his blue eyes burning with concern.
Distracted, she said "I don't know 5 or 6 hours."
"Spencer that's insane. I don't even think that's healthy." Toby replied.
"I'm a Hastings. It's what I do." she countered.
"Really? And what has this particular Hastings eaten today?"
Shuffling through papers, she said "Nothing yet. I said I'm busy."
"Ok. Let's go." Toby answered.
"What? Where?" she said finally looking at him instead of her french book.
"We're going to get something to eat." he responded with an adorable grin on his face.
"Yeah well I'm not hungry." she said going back to her french book.
"I'm not spending the day with low blood sugar Spencer. That's worse than no caffeine Spencer" he said giving her a knowing look.
"Wow. Your girlfriend sounds awesome." she responded bitterly.
Toby walked over to her. He placed a loving kiss on the top of her head.
"She is" he said sweetly.
"Now get ready and meet me downstairs." he said while walking to door. He stopped and turned back facing her.
"And if you're really good I will buying an extra large coffee" he said with a smirk.
Spencer laughed and smiled for the first time since he'd arrived.
