The salon was quiet when Sakura entered there one morning, her laptop and morning coffee in hand. She sighed, sat down and began working on her paperwork for the next week or so. She enjoyed the relative silence right until she heard the door open and anticipating that it was Satoru, she said, "Good morning, Chief".
"You an Akashi really DO have a routine, Sakura." Eiji's voice said, with a hint of amusement. "I don't know whether to be amused or bothered."
Sakura turned and gave Eiji a small smile. "Good morning, Takaoka-san."
"I'm still just Takaoka-san to you, Sakura?" He sounded hurt as he came into Sakura's line of vision. "I thought we were past that."
"It's just a formality, Takaoka-san." Sakura said, not looking up from her laptop.
"Don't call me that, Sakura." He murmured. "Say my name. I want to hear you call me by my name."
Sakura looked up at him, and then returned to her work. But his hurt feelings echoed in her head for a moment and her typing slowed. "You really want me to do that?"
He nodded. "We are in a relationship, aren't we?"
She remembered the day they'd gone after the Fire Of the Ruined Country precious and how her feelings toward him had changed. And then how when she and Souta had gone after the God's Head and she'd barely been able to keep her mind on the mission. She had been thinking about Eiji most of the time and Souta gently ribbed her for it.
"Thinking about Eiji again, Sakura?" he'd teased. "You'd better be careful or one might think that you're falling in love with him."
She looked at Eiji, who was sipping on some of that weird vegetable juice that he was ALWAYS drinking and was, shockingly enough, writing notes on some of the paperwork he needed to finish for her.
He looked up at her and smiled. "Oh, Sakura…you look nice today."
Her eyes widened as she absorbed what she had just heard. She looked surprised for a moment and then she blushed. "Thank you…Eiji."
It was the Dazzling Adventurer's turn to be surprised and he gave the Deep Adventurer a shy smile. She giggled at his shyness, leaned over the table and gave him a gentle peck on the cheek. His face turned a furious shade of red, and he gulped down the rest of his juice, avoiding her eyes.
She giggled into her coffee cup, quickly returning to her paperwork, closing the laptop and picking up some papers she brought with her.
Suddenly without thinking, he moved to her and pinned her right there on the table, pressing his lips to hers in a fiery kiss. Surprisingly, she didn't put up a fight, instead wrapping her arms around his strong shoulders, her fingertips running along the silver of his SGS jacket.
The kiss lasted for what seemed like an eternity and Eiji then slowly removed his lips from hers. He hovered over her for a little while before letting her up and taking his seat across from her again.
Leave it to Eiji to plant one on her like that and then go back to working as though nothing had happened. Her face was as pink as her jacket now and she looked down at her laptop.
Eiji laughed quietly and the salon returned to the same silence as before.
"By the way, Eiji…" Sakura said quietly, but still loud enough to be heard. "You look nice today, too…. the SGS jacket really fits you well."
Eiji looked at her and chuckled. It was clear that she was trying to get over what had happened a few moments ago.
"Thank you…" he smirked. "Nishihori-san"
"Hey!"
