Ash sat with his arms crossed and his chin lying atop. He let off a sigh. Obviously he was very bored. Pikachu lay next to him fast asleep in a little yellow fuzz ball. He continued to gaze no where in particular. Soon his eyes were becoming droopy. Before he knew it he was fast asleep. Ash was in a deep, peaceful sleep till someone whispered in his ear. "Ash…"
Almost as if he was in a trance or something Ash was wide awake. "Wha—What?!" He stammered.
"Sorry to wake you up…but I was wondering…"
"M-May?" Ash said through a yawn.
"Well, I've been wanting to tell you something for a very long time…" She didn't dare make eye contact with him instead she stared at her fidgeting feet.
"Yeah? We'll I'm all ears." Ash said with a soft smile.
There was a short pause; Ash continued to look at May waiting for her to say what she'd been itching to say. She bit her lip nervously.
"I…I HATE YOU!!!!" She screamed. This outburst made Ash fall out of his chair backwards with his head making contact with the ground first. When Ash had overcome his dizziness of hitting the ground so hard he gaped at May.
"You—you what?" He said, sounding close to tears.
May's expression looked close to tears as well. She covered her face in frustration. Though it was hard to understand Ash could just barely make out, "Uhhh!! That wasn't want I wanted to say! Oh! I'm a nervous wreck."
"M-May?"
May slowly moved her hands away from her face, which was bright red probably from embarrassment. He stared at her with a look of confusion and sadness in his face. She looked back feeling the urge to cry. Cry, till she could cry no more.
To Ash's surprise May suddenly thrust her arms around him. "I'm sorry!! That wasn't what I meant to say…it's just that I'm so nervous! And when I'm nervous I say things that I don't mean!!" She was in tears now. Ash didn't know what to do. How was he supposed to comfort her when she was in this state?
"Shh…." Ash coaxed. "Don't be nervous… what was it that you wanted to tell me…?"
Yet again, silence. All that could be heard was May's sniffling. The she whispered, "I like being in your arms…"
Ash chuckled. "Heh, was that what you were wan--" But he cut himself off when he saw that May was fast asleep. A soft smile came across his face. He ran his fingers through her hair and kissed her gently on the cheek.
'I bet what she really was trying to say was that….she has special feelings for me,' He thought to himself still running his fingers through her hair. "Well…I think I have feelings for you too." He whispered, though he knew May probably didn't hear him.
But she did hear for a light blush began to form on her face.
