If I die before I wake, I pray my soul the lord to take…

These works seemed to linger in Kenzie's mind before drifting off into a shallow sleep filled with shadows of nights before. Rock bottom wasn't a place she liked to consider herself even though she was way past it. Sleeping on a park bench, arms covered with small red scabs where she has just injected herself with her next hit. After Bo kicked her out for sleeping with Dyson things just seemed to fall apart and Kenzie was missing the glue to fix it. She barely remembers sleeping with Dyson. Ever once in awhile she'll have flash back's. At the moment her dreams lingered on that night. It all started in at Trick's bar…

"Come on Bo! You aren't leaving all ready are you? It's New Years!" Kenzie screamed over the drunken crowd of Fay. Trick's bar was especially packed tonight and the floor sticky with split drinks.

"Sorry Kenzie but I'm just not in a party mood." Bo said over her shoulder before disappearing into the crowd. All well Kenzie thought. She walked over to the bar to order another drink but one was already waiting for her. Dyson held out what looked like a beer. She gulped it down fast enough that she didn't taste it. She had never been a big fan of Trick's beer selection.

"Where'd Bo go to so fast?" Dyson asked scanning the crowd.

"She wasn't in the drinking mood so she left." Kenzie said while ordering two more beers; one for her and one for Dyson.

"Is she still upset about her mother?" Dyson asked getting serious.

"I think so… But it's New Years! I'm not leaving now! The party's just beginning!" Kenzie said handing a beer to Dyson then clinking glasses.

"To a new year filled with even more dangerous adventures to come!" Kenzie cheered. Dyson couldn't help but laugh. Kenzie was like no other that was for certain. She marched to the beat of her own drum and never gave a damn. That's what Dyson liked about her so much.

Kenzie lost track of how many drinks she had but it was at least 5 beer and 2 tequila shots that she could remember. She new tonight was going to be a good night.

"You know… I've never kissed a human before." Dyson whispered in Kenzie's ear.

"Oh really? Well it's nothing special." Kenzie giggled taking another shot.

"I could beg to differ… That is if I kissed one." Dyson began to close in the space between them. Kenzie could feel his lips brush hers then he pressed them hard against hers, almost devouring them. She needed air but Dyson wouldn't let the moment break until the last possible moment. When he finally pulled away her face was hot and red and her eyes filled with passion.

"Let's go somewhere a little more private" Dyson offered holding out his hand. The two took off out the door.

Trick witnessed it all from behind the bar. He shook his head with disappointment while continuing to sever costumers. He knew Dyson and Kenzie just hit the self destruct button on their lives..
