Author's Notes: Just another meaningless drabble that popped into my head that's based on the LO:CI episode "Amends." Just in case anyone is wondering who Angel is, she's an original character of mine from my story titled "Bobby's Angel." Anyway, this is the car scene where Alex and Bobby are leaving Theresa Quinn's home and heading back to 1PP (I'm assuming). LO:CI and its characters belong to Dick Wolf and company; I'm just borrowing them for a while. Any and all mistakes made are my own. Enjoy:o)

Bobby and Alex fell into a comfortable silence on their way back to 1PP. Although Alex was the one who usually did the driving, he decided that he would drive to give her a break. And to give her a chance to collect her thoughts about this week's past events. Bobby was certain that Alex maybe re-living her experience of Joe's death, seeing what Theresa Quinn was going through with the loss of her husband Kevin.

Bobby thought about what Alex had said earlier. About how she hadn't seen most of the folks that were gathered at the Quinn home in 9 years since Joe's death. He didn't want that for Angel. That sense of abandonment by friends, or least by people you thought were your friends, that Alex was experiencing. Sure, Angel had her family and friends that would be there to support her in her time of grief. But she would need Alex to support her, too. To help Angel deal with losing someone who gave their life in the line of duty.

"Can you promise me something, Alex?" Bobby asked. Alex turned her head to look at him. "I guess. What is it?" He took a deep breath, held it, then let it go before saying, "If I…I die in the line of duty, promise me that you will take care of Angel? Be there for her?"

It took Alex a minute, but it finally dawned on her what Bobby was asking. He was asking her to take care of the most precious and valuable thing that he had in the world. Something, or rather someone, that meant a lot to him. She smiled as she patted his hand. "Yes. I can do that. I promise," she said.

Bobby gave Alex a small lopsided smile before turning his attention back to the road. He felt a sense of relief, knowing that if he departed this world doing his job, Alex would look out for his Angel.
