The Misadventures of Jonathan Frasier
I do not own Stargate SG-1.
Chapter 1: Math
"Jon, would you like to answer the question?"
Jon looked up and saw the math equation written largely on the whiteboard. He looked at Miss McNamara then at the board again. He sighed loudly before getting on his feet.
16 - 9 =
He looked at his fingers and started to count.
"5?" He said.
He heard Lisa Mattherson up front snickering. He rolled his eyes before looking at Miss McNamara with a 'is this right?' expression. She shook her head.
"That is incorrect Jon. The answer is 7." She said and then went on to explaining why it was 7. Jon nodded and went back to his seat.
The next day after school, his teacher had a talk with his 'mom'.
"Jon has a short attention span."
"... Okay. Why do you think that Miss McNamara?" Dr. Janet Fraiser glanced at the boy who was fiddling a bobblehead in his hands. At the corner of her eyes, she saw him raise an eyebrow.
"He is not paying attention in class. He is also scoring less that average points in class." She laid out his report card in front of her. His grades were indeed low.
"I see."
"Is there anything going on at home?"
"Oh no, everything is fine."
"Well then there must be something that is keeping his mind away from class."
"I honestly don't think it's anything from home."
"Does your family have a history in dyslexia?"
"Jon is adopted."
"Oh, I'm sorry."
"It's okay. No history of dyslexia in his family, no."
"Mrs. Frasier, I know it is hard to accept but with Jon's lack of ability to cope with his studies, there might be a possibility of just that."
"I'll... talk to him."
"I think that is best. Thank you for your time Mrs. Frasier."
"Your welcomed. Come on Jon."
"Bye Miss M." He said while putting back the bobblehead on the desk.
"Goodbye Jon. I'll see you tomorrow."
They walked in the hallway in silence until they entered the car.
"Math?"
"I only have 10 fingers Frasier." She glared at him.
"I'm acting like a normal 3rd Grader. I like thinking about dinosaurs and planes and ice cream in the middle of class."
"Just... don't try too hard on failing okay Colonel?"
"Yes ma'am."
The next week Jon scored 100 on his Math paper.

A/N: Recently I became drawn to start writing again. This was conceived a year ago. Anyway, a part of me is kinda upset they didn't pursue the whole clone storyline. If you like it, do tell me what you'd like to see happen next :)
