Notes from RushersRuleTheWorld97: Guys, you don't know how sorry I am for not updating in like… 3 months! D: I have been busy with marching band (which just ended), this regional choir I made (I'm so excited for it!) and musical auditions and crap! So this is going to be my multi-chapter… That I will finish! :)

I think I shall like this a lot! Katie is three or so and Kendall is nine. Enjoy!

Background- Christmas, 2002

It was about six o'clock at night. Kendall and Katie sat in the living room playing with their new toys they had just gotten while their mother sat anxiously in the bay window, dreading the return of the children's father, Tony.

As soon as she saw headlights at the end of the street, she sent Kendall and Katie up to the room they shared. Quickly, Kendall sprinted up the stairs with Katie in his arms. He ran into the room and put Katie in her crib. Climbing into his bed, he heard his father shouting.

"Where? Where are they?" Tony bellowed.

"You weren't supposed to come home until you were sober!" Jennifer cried.

"It's Christmas! Aren't I allowed to see… uhh… Kevin and Katherine? My kids?"

"No! You don't even know their names!" Tony pushed Jennifer aside and stomped up the steps.

"Kendall, come see Daddy" the drunken man said in a low, almost growling voice. Kendall swiftly got Katie out of her crib and placed the three-year-old on the ground behind himself. "Kendall! Listen to your father!" Tony shouted in a drunken rage. He kicked at Kendall and Katie's door and knocked it over. "Aha!" the crazed man laughed, sounded almost too insane for his own good.

"Mommy!" Kendall shouted. "Call 9-1-1!"

"SHUT UP!" Tony screamed, slapping Kendall hard across the face. Kendall threw himself over his baby sister while their dad repeatedly beat the nine-year-old.

Twenty minutes later, the unfamiliar sound of sirens echoed through the small room. Tony stopped beating Kendall and bolted out of the door. He was grabbed and handcuffed before he could get out of the door. Struggling, Tony fought back. The police officers tasered him, letting him fall down to the ground while one of them looked for the children.

Kendall lay on the white carpet with his bloody and battered body still shielding Katie. She silently cried under the weight of her protective brother. The policeman cam upstairs and picked the two children up. He carried them down to the ambulance, his eyes tearing up.

How could someone do this to a child? he thought. What did this child do, besides protect his baby sister, to deserve this? I vow never to let this happen again, using all the power I've got. He wiped his eyes and closed the ambulance door.

Holy crap… That was really short… Hm. Oh well. I liked it.

I'd REALLY appreciate if you guys reviewed. It's like sugar for me; it keeps me going^.^
