Disclaimer: I don't own Naruto, if I did, Sasuke and Sakura would be all over each other…

Sasuke sighed for the umpteenth time that day. He missed the feel of Sakura's lips on his. It was only a few hours before the New Year. He and Sakura had planned to go to New York and watch the ball drop together. Now, because of a complicated misunderstanding, she'd broken up with him. Sakura's friend Ino had come to visit and once Sakura was out of the room, she'd made a move on him. Sakura'd come back in as Sasuke attempted to push her away. Now he stood out on his apartment balcony where he and Sakura would stand outside and kiss. They never cared who happened to see. He stared out over the city. People were already beginning to arrive for the ball drop. The door opened to the apartment next door. Sasuke's neighbor and friend, Shikamaru walked out. He'd walked out on them numerous times. He eyed Sasuke, surprised that he was alone. "Where's your lady-friend?" he asked sitting on a dirty lawn chair. "Naruto told me that he's seen you really down lately. What's happened?" Sasuke sighed. "She broke up with me" he breathed. Shikamaru let out an amused howl. "Really?! I would have never guessed the way you two were all over each other. Why?" He wore an upsetting smile on his face. "Your girlfriend made a move on me" he explained. This time Shikamaru let out a full laugh. "Really now?! She's stupider than I thought! Oh, and you know she's my EX-girlfriend" Sasuke snorted. Shikamaru thought for a moment. "You know," he began "If you loved Sakura as much as I think you do, you wouldn't sit there and mope, no. The Sasuke I know would go after her" he said. Sasuke glared at him. Shikamaru shrugged and headed inside after downing his coffee. Sasuke heaved out a heavy breath and stared back at the street below. How could he make it up to her? She might've already gotten a new boyfriend anyway. No. Sasuke new what she would do. She'd sit on her could eating ice cream and watch romance movies until Tenten or Hinata forced her to come to a club with them. He chuckled at the thought. When he saw her next, he'd have to ask. His mental debate ended and he grabbed his coat and ran out his door.

He scanned the monstrous crowd around him. He'd been there for almost three hours. He stopped. His eyes spotted a patch of pink. As he watched for another moment, he realized that it was definitely her. He charged through the crowd to her side. "Sakura!" he yelled. She spotted him as well. At first she smiled, seeming relieved at his coming. But it dulled as she remembered that they were broken up. Sasuke could think of no better way to apologize. He grabbed her cheeks lightly and pressed his lips to hers. After a moment, she melted into it. Without knowing it, she'd come back into contact with one of the things she missed most about him. His sincerity. The pulled apart slowly. They were lost in each other's eyes. "Does this mean we're back together?" he asked amused. "If you want to look at it that way, sure" she answered pressing her lips to his. In the process, the countdown had begun. When he kissed her back, the number 'zero' rang through the air. They smiled. It was the perfect situation to show how they really felt about each other. There was no greater truth.

Well, I hope you liked it. I should have used this as my first story to try the system out. Oh, well, what's done is done. Please review, flames are welcome. Please don't be too mean though, I would feel sad…

Oh! If you review, you won't have Orochimaru standing over your bed tonight with a knife in his hand right above your head… Well, have a nice day!!!!
