I ran through the streets of Yemen, holding a ring I found in quicksand. It was silver and said " Sic Parvis Magna" it had a brown leather chain on it
" Italian" I said dissapointed
I could hear pounding footsteps behind me. I turned around to find a man and a woman running towards me. I put the ring around me neck and ran. They followed me, hot on my heels
" Come back here you little beggar" the man yelled, his baldness reflecting in the sunlight
I covered my eyes with my arms and turned back facing the road. A big truck came hurtling towards me as I stopped. The man and woman were behind me, holding guns to my back. I slide under the truck, the gravel ripping my thigh. Then the man and woman climbed overtop of the moving truck and landed near me. I got up from the ground, my thigh burning as I ran. I ran down an alleyway and came to a sudden stop
" A dead end" I whispered
I could feel the gun barrels boring into my back. I put up my hands in the defeat
" Turn around" the woman said, pressing the gun barrel against my back
I turned around, my brown hair hanging in my face. Her eyes grew wide as she dropped the gun, elbowing the guy next to her. I smiled and reached into my leg pouch, pulling out an pistol. I held it out to her
" Here is a gun for you" I said spitting " Seems like you dropped your old one"
She reached over and grabbed my pistol, her hand shaking like leaves
" Don't be afraid to shoot" I said teasing her " I had a horrible life anyway"
" Cutter" she said poking him " Does she look familiar
" She looks a lot like Nate Chloe" Cutter said
I looked at them with disbelief. Who the hell was Nate
" I am Cutter" he said holding out his hand " Or known as Charlie"
I backed up toward the wall, hands to my chest
" Sorry" Chloe said, pushing Cutter back " I'm Chloe by the way. You are?"
" Ena" I said " My name is Ena"
" Ena" Cutter said stepping forward " Do you mind giving us that ring"
" What ring?" I said smiling as the ring vanished from my neck
Charlie pulled out his Ak-47 and shot me in the Forearm. Leaned against the wall holding my arm. I smiled
" Your willing to kill me for a stupid ring"
He stepped forward and punched me in the face. I closed my eyes, feeling the warm blood flowing down my nose and forehead. I fell to the ground in a bloody heap.
" Cutter" Chloe said, grabbing his bloody fist " Stop it"
" I'm only following Nate's orders"
" Nate didn't tell you to murder the girl" Chloe said picking me up by my uninjured arm " He told you to find the ring and not hurt anybody"
" The girl can take the pain" He said looking at me " How old are you?"
" 16" I said " I'm 16
" She is too young Charlie" Chloe said
I shrugged my shoulders and smiled a wispy smile
" Can you tell me who this Nate is?" I said
Chloe smiled
" How about instead of telling you why don't you come with us" She said grabbing my shoulder " After all you have the artifact he needs"
" Ok" I said shaking her hand,smiling
" Will it be ok with your parents?" Charlie said, poking me
My smiled faded from my bloody face
" My parents left me a few years ago"
" I'm sorry" Charlie said " I didn't mean to bring up the subject"
"Its ok" I said " By the way Ena is a nickname"
" What's your real name" Chloe said
" Athena" I said, wiping my face " That's all I know
YAY an UNChARTED story. Wow I am gonna have to finish up a few stories hehe
