A/N: Well, first story since I changed my name, and lucky for me it's a Borra month submission! This is day 3: Nightmare. I wrote this like a month ago, but yeah. Here you go. And please review :D
The sound of a scream woke Bolin from his slumber. Confused, he looked around the dark room, then realized what woke him up. He got up and groggily stumbled into the hall, and into the room next to his.
"Korra? You alright?" The moonlight from the window revealed her scared expression.
Her visitor snapped her out of her shock, "Bolin! Oh, it was just a—" She stopped talking when she noticed her boyfriend was in his underwear, and just that. Korra stared for a moment, then Bolin looked down and figured out why she stopped.
"Oh! I was, uh, sleeping, and uh, heard a scream. So I didn't really take the time to get dressed, sorry about that." He was noticeably blushing.
"Oh, it's fine…but sorry about the yelling…I had a bad dream, and it was just…really scary. I didn't mean to wake you, I'm fine."
But Bolin knew she was lying. Korra rarely showed genuine fear, and when she did, it was obvious. "Korra. You're not fine. What was it about? I'm already awake, we may as well talk."
She was hesitant, but knew better than to let her nightmare go ignored. "Well…it was about Amon. I know he died months ago, but still…"
He sat down on the bed next to her. "Really? I figured that after you blasted him out of a window, you wouldn't be afraid of the big bad Amon anymore."
She let out a laugh. "Yeah, I know. But my dream…He had captured you guys, you, Mako, Tenzin and his kids, and he was about to take your bending. I tried to stop him, but my bending wouldn't work and I couldn't move. I just watched as he took your bending, one by one. It was a horrible feeling, not being able to save the people you love. I felt so helpless."
Bolin didn't know what to say, as he honestly wasn't much good at comforting people, so he just scooted closer to her and hugged her. "Well, I know one thing. Amon is gone, and he's not going to hurt anyone ever again. Not you, not me, not anyone. That nightmare is over."
She hugged him back. "I know."
A moment passed in silence, and suddenly Bolin said, "So…should I go back to my room…or do you wanna…," he smiled deviously, "do stuff?"
She gave his suggestion some thought, then replied, "Well…as tempting as you look right now, I'm going to ignore the passion in my loins and get some sleep. I have my first major airbending test tomorrow. And I kind of don't want to fail it."
He looked genuinely glum, and said, "Oh. I see. Well, I guess I'll have to do the same." He gave her a long good-bye kiss, then got up.
"Oh, don't look so sad! We'll have plenty of time to do things later. Besides, you need sleep, too, Mr. Captain of The Fire Ferrets."
He smiled. "Yeah, you're right. Well, good night, Mrs. Airbender."
"Night, Bo!"
