Aria was sitting on her front porch pondering the letter that she held in her hand. The parchment, not paper, was think and the writing was a bit spidery. Opening the envelope for what must have been the thirteenth time, she examined the list of school supplies that she needed to buy from some place called Diagon Alley. She supposed that this was the first test, seeing if she would be able to find this Diagon Alley.

All of a sudden, to her surprise, an owl landed on the railing ringing the porch. Clutched in its beak it held a letter much like the one that Aria held in her hands, though smaller. She got up from her seat and approached the owl cautiously. Waiting for it to bite her at any point, she took the letter.

She opened it and read:

Your guide will be arriving shortly. Please wait near your fireplace with a parent or guardian. Sincerely,

Hermione Granger

Head of the Muggle Liaison Office in the Department of Magical Law Enforcement of the Ministry of Magic

"Mom! Mom!" She ran inside the house calling, obviously, for her mother. "They've sent another letter!"

"Wonderful!" Aria's mom, Jennifer Kenna, called, a little unenthusiastically, from the kitchen where she was preparing a sandwich lunch. To say the least, Ms. Kenna, for was a single mother, had yet to come to terms with her daughter's identity as a magical, as in wands not personality, person. "What does it say?" She enquired.

"It tells me to stand by our fireplace with you, Mom!" Aria replied, bouncing up and down with excitement. "Come on!"

"Fine," Ms. Kenna obliged, joining her daughter in their living room.

Then, before either of them knew it, the fireplace flashed green. All of a sudden, a young man, not much older than Aria, landed on their carpet. Straightening himself up, he offered a hand to Aria. "Hi, I'm James Potter!"

"Hi, I'm Aria!" She replied.

"I know!" He turned to her mother and greeted Ms. Kenna as well. "Are we all set to go then?" He asked the pair. After receiving nods of assent, he quickly explained the basics of Floo travel before whisking them off to the Leaky Cauldron.

A/N

Aaaand she's back! Hey everyone! I did it! I finished NaNoWriMo!

So I'll be updating FF (hopefully) but only after I finish my writing quota, concerning the unfinished novel on my computer, for the day. As of now, it seems that these chapters will be shorter, so be aware that that'll be happening.

Please review! (I've observed that authors who leave such a note often get more reviews, so I figured that I should try it too)

Until next time,

Eva
