***I wasn't sure about uploading this at first, but a friend of mine encouraged me. I own nothing, here you go.
The human walked closer to Papyrus. He held out his arms for a hug, assuming that his kindness lessons had been working. The human picked up their pace, unsheathing a knife. The only thing separating them and Papyrus was a blue light suddenly flashing before things could get messy.
There was a loud THUD! against the thick snow covering the ground. The human stopped, putting away their knife. Papyrus looked down.
And he saw Sans laying at his feet.
"Sans!" Papyrus exclaimed, falling to his knees almost immediately. He was met with a coughing fit at first.
"Ugh...Paps? That you?" Sans asked. "Yes. It's me," Papyrus said. After a few second of mental panic, he stood with Sans in his arms.
"Do not worry! I, the great Papyrus, shall get you to-"
"ARGGH!"
Papyrus sat back down. "Sorry," he apologized. He didn't like it all that much when Sans' blood drizzled onto his battle body. "How did you know about this?" he asked.
"I...have my ways." Sans knew he didn't have much time left. Let alone enough time to explain the timelines.
"I don't want to let you go yet," Papyrus said, orange tears falling down his face. Sans tried for a weak smile. "Same here, Pap," he said. He had a second coughing fit.
Papyrus felt a little terrified. "Well, I'm going to Grillby's. Do you...want...anything?" Sans asked. And with that, he closed his eyes and turned to dust. The small white SOUL shattered.
Then Papyrus picked up the hoodie, pulled it on over his clothes, and broke down. He cried, wanting this to all be some nightmare. He wanted to wake up in his bedroom with Sans sleeping just down the hall right about now.
But this nightmare was no dream.
Papyrus grieved for a few moments more before his sadness became anger. He stood up stiffly.
The human just stood at their spot, cleaning off their knife with the sleeve of their sweater. It was as if they were emotionless. Papyrus gritted his teeth. "Sans was right. You're better off burning below," he said.
The human drew their knife, ready to kill another skeleton. But this time, Papyrus wasn't playing nice. He was determined to get the final human SOUL.
He would do it for the king.
For the Underground.
For Sans.
The human smiled wickedly. They ran again, but Papyrus blocked this time.
"You can't stop the great Papyrus, human."
"But I stopped his brother."
"Take this!"
Papyrus hit the human with bone attacks, reducing their HP to nearly nothing. "Try again." As soon as the bone impaled them, the human knew they were screwed.
"Dirty brother killer," Papyrus muttered. And he walked away to bring the human SOUL to Asgore and free the Underground.
"All for you, brother."
But nobody came.
