Just a short little drabble I was inspired to write. It's not for a contest, like some vignettes are, but just for fun.

-i swear it was an accident-
They were just a little too close together; just a smidge too near for comfort. Strange for two people who wanted nothing to do with each other, don't you think? Their eyes were locked, and they glared at each other so fiercely you could almost see the electricity crackling between them. Just by looking at them, you could tell they hated each other. They were exact opposites; the sunny, blonde, perpetually cheerful, attention-seeking trouble child and the tragic, perfect, cold little orphan who everyone loved and adored.
But they were still too close.
It seemed like if a butterfly flapped its wings somewhere far, far away, the breeze, as small as it would be, would still be enough to topple the precariously perched blonde and then they would lurch into each other and they would… they would…
kiss.
Then the butterfly flapped its wings and their lips locked.
(and one pink-haired girl was very, very mad)
-Later-
Sakura felt tears burn her eyes as she stalked home from school. Stupid Naruto! How dare he steal Sasuke's first kiss? That was supposed to be hers, dammit! Hers! She had worked so hard to get him to notice her (and toeventually fall in love with her) and she loved Sasuke and Naruto hated him and yet they still- they still…
kissed.
Ugh.
Sakura dried her tears with the sleeve of her shirt and gathered herself together. It didn't matter; she wasn't the type to give up.
Besides, there was always next time.
-Next time-
The grocery list in Sakura's hand fluttered to the ground unnoticed onto the cobblestone street at her feet. Her mouth formed a small 'o' of shock and she couldn't help but gasp at the scene that lay before her.
This couldn't be happening. No way was this happening.
It was inconceivable.
It was impossible.
Yet it was right in front of her!
It was- it was-
And they were-
And- and- and-
"Oh my god! Naruto, Sasuke, what are you doing?"
-kissing-
