This is the metaphorical love-child of my love for RWBY and the modern Shadowrun game series (Returns, Dragonfall and Hong Kong). If you aren't familiar Shadowrun, here's a brief: A game set in a dystopian future where magic has returned to earth and humananity shares it with with all the Tolkien races (Dwarves, Elves, Orcs and Trolls). Corrupt mega-corporations have a helluva lot more power than the government, corporate wars are often waged and backstreet citys are run by bloodthirsty street gangs. Players take the role as a Shadowrunner, a private mercenary doing the jobs no one else can and the choices said player makes defines the story. Basically, think a mesh between Dungeons & Dragons and Bladerunner.
Anyway, here are the rules:
1. Through the efforts of a crazy cult of mages and shamans (you choose what), Earth (or 'The Sixth World') and Remnant have been melded together some twelve years before Volume 1.
2. The animosity some of humanity(Remnant) has for Faunus has become a distrust of Metahumans in general. Pricks like Cardin are still around, unfortunately.
3. Metahumans sympathize with Faunus.
4. Metahumans now live in Remnant and Menagerie.
5. Faunus are more accepted outside of Remnant.
6. Sixth World students can train to become Huntsmen/Huntresses in Remnant academies. ("Cough"Beacon!"Cough")
7. Qrow Branwen now operates as a Shadowrunner as well as a Huntsman.
8. The Schnee Dust Company has become a rival to many mega-corporations. Dust is now in high demand in weapons development.
9. The Mega-Corps have a foot in Remnant. E.j.: Ares Macrotechnology, Aztechnology, Evo Corporation, Renraku Computer Systems, etc.
10. Shadowrunners operate in Remnant and Ozpin is well aware of them (hint)
11. Set the story some time before the beginning of Volume 1 (With the trailers)
12. Add some Metahuman OC's, like Junior having a Troll bouncer or something.
13. Make an OC team alongside RWBY, JNPR, CVFY and SSSN consisting of different species with different classes.(Mage, Shaman, Rigger, Decker, Street Samurai, etc.)
14. Pairings are optional and recommended.
15. Add some gritty drama.
16. Street gangs are in Remnant.
17. Add some Cardin and Roman Bashing.
18 Aura and Semblance are categorized as types of magic.
19. Make the outcome of Volume 3 different, please!
20. The White Fang Threat is being a lot more acknowledged by Shadowrunners.
