I inhale deeply before opening my eyes. At the sight of him, a broad smile spreads across my lips. "Hello, old friend," I say, starting forward toward him, "we meet again."
"River," he says, metres from me now, returning the smile. "We meet again."
"Sit by me, my Dear," he says kindly, "I have much to tell you."
My gaze not faltering from his, I do as he tells me. He waits in silent patience as I get comfortable, and then, he takes a deep breath before speaking. "My dear," he says again, "my dear, there are many others like you and I, as I am sure you are aware. Many are bad, but there are some whom, like us, are good. Others are questionable. Be wary of one known as 'Me', for her motives I am yet to determine," He pauses. "At least completely. And the woman who calls herself 'Missy', be cautious."
I nod silently.

"You may come across me in another form during your travels. A man by the name of Captain Jack Harkness." He is silent for a long while before he speaks again. "There is also a man. A man of many faces," he says slowly at last and my face softens. I can tell he is growing weaker. "He calls himself The Doctor," he says as I get to my feet. "Look out for him," he asks and I stop in my tracks, turning back to face him and giving a sharp nod. "And you'll tell me of your adventures, won't you, dear River?"
I meet his gaze and smile at the look in his eyes. The worry that I might abandon him at the prospect of adventure. "Of course, dear Boe," I say, stroking the glass of the tank protecting him. "On that, you have my word." I begin to walk away before pausing on second thought, turning back to face him. Wordlessly, I blow him a kiss, at which he smiles, before turning on my heel once again.
