Prologue.
Silence
The night was dark. But not just dark as in nightfall. It was midnight. The most peaceful time of day I've been told.
I stood in the middle of the highway. There were no cars, and at this point, there wouldn't be any for hours. I had followed him all night, five miles until my bare feet began to bleed. So I stood, bare feet, black hair hanging down in tangled curls.
Clad in a white gown from earlier events that evening. I held my shoes in my hand and stood still. The world was silent.
A howl broke my silence, it also broke my sanity. My knees buckled and I fell. Sobbing.
Well, there you have… You can kinda figure out who the characters are, but I didn't want to like, tell you…
