Okura Haruki was a kid not much younger than me but also not old enough to be on my level of understanding. So I thought at first. He was the same age as my bigger little sister Karen and also happened to be in the same classroom as her. We were fated to never come across each other but still surpassed the odds of destiny. The way how I worded may seem like there is something in between the lines but truth be told nothing is hidden we were simply two different people, with two different aspects on life, with two different problems we are burdened with.

Everyone in there life time has had a friend. Whether it be a best friend or even someone you talk about weekly manga with, all in all they are still a friend. As close as you are or as far apart as it may seem no matter what the circumstances are with your relationship between one and other you will always find something you don't like. It can be minor but we choose to overlook it because we genuinely like the person us humans were born with the power of adaptation .

We throw aside petty feelings for quirks that define us no matter how annoying the are just to grant the other person with the title of "friend" but really what does the word friend mean to us besides the basic definition?

Someone you have things in common with?

Someone that defends you through thick and thin?

Someone you can get mad at everyday but forgive each other before night falls?

These are all right, then again there is no wrong answer so there is no right one either. The thing that binds us to each other is deeper than anything you can define friendship with. It can go for any relationship actually, its essential for family, its earned from friends, and its mandatory to feel secure through life.

It's trust.

I never knew this until I met Haruki that day.

A rabbit can only trust you once. There is no apologizing to make it better, there is no rekindling, there are no second chances at all. As sad it may seem it's quite the opposite actually.

Haruki taught me that day that rabbits are actually the most scariest animals out there.
