(Disclaimer: Dick owns. I'm a poor Canuck with nothing. End of story.)

(Note: I have no idea where this thing came from. Or what it is. But... it's here.)

For all intents and purposes, to all appearances, she's "normal" again. Depending on one's definition of normal, that is.

On the outside, in appearance, she's normal, in a sense. There's no obvious sign of it that people readily notice except for a stiffness in the arm, from time to time. There are no telling marks, no scars that she doesn't cover.

But people only see her on the outside, They don't see the internal struggle, as she's trying to rebuild things. Re-qualify with the Department. Doctors say it's unlikely - the arm's not steady enough or strong enough for that and she probably won't be able to. She stubbornly ignores them - what else would she do? - and keeps spending hours at the range.

They had to cripple her. In a not obvious way. They crippled her career, if not her life. I can imagine her as a "lifer", much like myself. Eventually, they'll shuffle her off into the Property Clerk's office to get her out of the way - if they don't force an early retirement down her throat, that is. There's no room on the force for a cop who can't hold a weapon properly - she won't admit, but she can't - and can't aim.

For appearances' sake, she keeps the sidearm. And she looks to be normal. Just like the rest of us. But there's more to it than what you can see. Of course, I'm the only one who sees more into it than any of them.
