Fine Line

"Have you ever wanted to hate someone?"

Cat looked up from her phone, startled for a moment when she heard Tori's voice from above her. The small redhead blinked in confusion as she looked up at the brunette then followed her eyes to Jade's locker, where the latter was cleaning it out, customary for the last day of school.

"Huh?"

Tori let out a heavy sigh as she jumped into her somewhat long explanation. "Jade. She's tortured me since my first day at this school and as much as I want to hate her, I can't. I just can't hate her." Her nose twitched in anger as she clutched the metal stair banister in her hands. Her knuckles were turning white, Cat noted as she turned once again to look at her close friend. "She has this power over me that every time I start to hate her, she just.. smiles at me or gives me that smirk and I'm like.. like.." She struggled to find a word to define exactly how she felt but came up short, instead just huffing in annoyance and anger.

Cat stayed silent as she listened to her friend ramble on and turned to watch Jade, slightly tuning out of the conversation. The moment she turned her head, she saw Beck strolling over to her dark friend and wrap and arm around her waist, kissing her cheek and handing her a large coffee. She tuned back into what Tori was saying and looked back up at the standing girl.

"…and the worst part is, in the end, I don't end up hating Jade, I end up hating Beck because.."

"Hey you guys!" The infamous couple strolled over, as usual in each other's arms. Tori faked her big bright smile at them, stopping her rant to Cat as she jumped into a conversation with her friends.

Cat sat in silence as she looked up at them from her seat on the stairs, eyes flicking from Jade to Tori and seeing something she never saw before. How they looked at each other with a raw hungry passion.

Whoa daddy.
