Howard and Bernadette had exchanged rings, exchanged vows, and kissed. Their wedding ceremony was over. It was on to the reception.

Amy noticed that Sheldon was keeping an unusually close eye on the gifts for the newly wedded couple. "You should be looking more at people and less at objects," Amy remarked.

"My gift for Bernadette is no ordinary object," Sheldon remarked. "It is truly one of a kind."

"In what sense?" Amy asked.

"You'll see," answered Sheldon. "Trust me, you'll see."

As the reception drew to a close, it was time for Howard and Bernadette to open their gifts. They opened gifts from Leonard. They opened gifts from Penny. They opened gifts from Raj. They even opened gifts from Stuart. And finally, Bernadette came to Sheldon's gift.

As Bernadette unwrapped and opened it, Sheldon's eyes locked onto it with a level of concentration exceeding that of playing Halo.

Bernadette gasped. "It's beautiful! It's a necklace of protein molecules! It represents my career perfectly! It's...it's...it's MELTING!"

Startled, Bernadette dropped the necklace, and it hit the ground partially solid and partially liquid. Everyone gathered around to see what happened. Sheldon got there first, and he had only one word to say.

"BAZINGA!"

Bernadette turned on Sheldon with a death glare. Her voice had a strong undercurrent of anger, but the anger was muted by the natural sweet squeakiness her voice normally possessed. "What the (word you get when you enter the number 7734 into your calculator and turn it upside down) did you do?!". Her face was only six inches from Sheldon's face.

"I made the necklace out of gallium, a metal that melts at room temperature," Sheldon explained. "I wanted to show that beauty does not last forever."

"I can't believe you pulled a stunt like this on Howard and Bernadette's wedding day!" Amy scolded.

"Why not?" Sheldon asked. "You saw it with your own eyes. And the physical evidence is still on the ground in liquid form. What more do I need to do so you will believe it?"
