"I'm doing this, Hermione, and you'll just have to accept it," said Ron, opening the door.

"No! Ron, please," Hermione pleaded desperately. She followed him outside. It didn't matter that it was pouring rain; she needed to stop him.

"Ron, Harry wouldn't want you to go and risk your life for revenge. Voldemort is gone and that's all that matters. Killing Malfoy won't solve anything," she yelled above the pounding rain.

"I need to do this!" countered Ron, "I need to avenge Harry. Don't you see Hermione; I need this!"

"Well…well I need you!" she shouted as the rain fell harder.

They stood there as the freezing drops soaked them. Ron was registering what she said and Hermione waiting for a response.

"Hermione, if I don't go then-"

"Then you come over here and kiss me. If you go, then you lose me forever."

Ron didn't think twice. He walked towards Hermione and locked her in a kiss. The tension between them was finally broken and the kiss deepened and became more and more passionate. Years of secret lust broke free as the two embraced, ultimately becoming one.

They separated for breath and looked at each other. At that moment, everything around them was blocked out. There was no rain, no house, no world; just them.

"I love you," whispered Ron.

"And I love you," replied Hermione.

Booming thunder brought them back to reality and they rushed inside the house.

Hermione grinned as they sat by the fire.

"What?" asked Ron.

"You kissed me," said Hermione, teasing him. Ron smiled wickedly.

"Keep it quiet, though, I don't want my spotless reputation ruined," he teased right back. Hermione hit him and he pulled her into his arms.

And they sat there by the fire, happier than they had been in a long time and knowing that somewhere Harry was smiling at them.
