Hello people!! This is the first story I publish in English and I'm not sure it's good but well, I'd love to have your advice. It's a very short One shot and it's Slash so if the idea doesn't appeal to you then don't read. I'm sur you people know it but I don't own Harry Potter or any other character so don't sue me I'm just having fun with them and I'm not making money out of it.

A single moment in time can influence the rest of your life. Harry Potter knew that such a moment had existed for him on his first day as a wizard, when Draco Malfoy had offered him his friendship. That had been the turning point in time. Who knows what might have happened if he had shaken Malfoy's hand on this day.
Sometimes Harry wondered about it and imagined his life if he hadn't rejected the offer.
First of all, he would have been sorted in Slytherin that was for sure. Not that Harry had a problem with that but the fact that his house for seven years had depended only in the eleven year old blonde boy and whether or not he accepted him as a friend.
Secondly, he would probably not have been friends with Ron and Hermione and might have become a complete asshole who despised poors and mudbloods. That was not good.
Then there was the question of whether he would have fought for the light if he had befriended Malfoy. Somehow he doubted it. If they had been friends they might have joined their powers and found a way to destroy Voldemort but he wasn't sure if he would have done it had he been given a choice. For all he knew, Malfoy and he could have become extremely powerful and both their ambition might have led them to rise to power together. Killing Voldemort only to take his place. Had he and Draco been friends they wouldn't have canceled each other's magic making it impossible for one to be at peace until the other was alive.
But that was not what Harry thought about most of the time. He wondered what would have happened between them. The connection between them had always been evident so what would have happened if they hadn't become sworn enemies? Would they have become best friends? or more? Lovers perhaps. That left Harry thinking. The most disturbing was the fact that this made sense. So much in fact that had he taken Draco's hand they would surely have ended up as a couple. This was disturbing because it revealed that Harry had been attracted to Malfoy. And because it didn't sound quite as weird as it should have been to his ears. That didn't shock him, as if on some level he always knew what he could have become had he made another choice when he was eleven.He often thought of what it would have been like to feel Draco's lips on his own kissing him as there was no tomorrow and as if nothing help was important. Even when he had married Ginny he had known how much power he was renouncing to and he had accepted it because the choice had been made too long ago. Even when he had seen Draco dead by his hands lying at his feet he had known that he had just killed his soul mate but it had been too late.
It had always been too late for them.
