Authors Note - A little bit of Sap for you lovers out there. I just love the song What Took You So Long by Emma Bunton at the minute and as I was listening to it I suddenly had the inspiration for this Fic. By the way I have done the two verses first then the chorus at the end. Enjoy!!!

Relena rushed down the corridor towards Heero's room. She burst through the door and half-shouted "Is it true what Duo has just told me that you're leaving after Nataya's trial?" He didn't answer.
"Heero tell me now I need to know"
"God damn pilot cant keep his mouth shut for two seconds" thought Heero "Yes I am leaving Relena"
"But Heero you cant leave I, I need you"
He turned to face the window "You don't "
"I do Heero more than anyone else in the world"
"No" he said
"YES. You protect me. I LOVE YOU"
Cause baby I believe in honesty
Ever strong and true
I shouldn't have to say it now baby
But I believe in you
"I don't protect you well enough" He chose to ignore her last comment as that would involve him delving into feelings and the lump in his throat stopped him. He knew if he said anything about love now he wouldn't be able to ignore his heart and he would confess his hidden feelings to Relena and she would be in danger, again.
"Heero" she said stepping towards him "You saved me didn't you? I would of died if it wasn't for you"
"Yes" he said his eyes filling with tears "But I let you get kidnapped in the first place it was weak of me"
"You sound like Wufei now" she said choking on her words. The tears were falling freely on her face now. It was all Heero could do to stop himself from turning round and wrapping his arms around her, keeping her there forever, safe.
"Heero please tell me you love me"
You touched my heart right from the start
You didn't know what to say
But honey try to understand when you take my hand
Everything's okay
Heero was silent desperately fighting the words his heart wanted to utter. Relena began to cry more violently.
"I've always loved you Heero, I always will. I want you no one else. I only feel safe when you're around please Heero stay with me"

I've had enough so listen now baby
I've got something to say
"Heero do you really hate me that much? If you hate me why do you always save me? Why Heero? WHY?"
Tears began to roll down his cheeks.
"If you hate me Heero there's no reason for me to be alive so kill me now, kill me like your always saying you will GO ON"

Heero slowly turned round to face Relena. He took a step towards her and she looked straight up at him deep, deep into his blue eyes. Slowly he bent his face down until they touched and he brushed her lips with his own.
"Oh Heero" she murmured. Then she pulled him into a full embrace. They broke apart and Heero pulled Relena in close to him. She rested her head on his shoulder and he began to stroke her hair with his hand. He kissed the top of her head and she murmured contently.
"I love you Relena"
