Steven loved snowy days. Nothing beat sitting in front of the fire with hot cocoa and Pearl's homemade cookies. Yep, everything was right with the world; Pearl was cleaning the kitchen, humming some unknown tune as she worked, Amethyst was sitting by the window, giggling occasionally for some weird reason, and Garnet was...nowhere to be seen.
"Where's Garnet?" Steven asked. Amethyst's giggles turned to full-blown laughter at this and Pearl merely sighed.
"She's a bit...preoccupied at the moment Steven."
"Doing what?" he asked. Amethyst, still recovering from her laugh attack, merely beckoned him towards the window. As he approached, he could make out Ruby and several snowmen. As he got closer, he realized that Ruby would talk to one of the snowmen for a couple of seconds, and then storm off to talk to a different one and then would storm away from that one to another and would repeat the process all over again.
"Why is Ruby trying to talk to those snowmen?" Amethyst was at her limit, as she began cackling again, leaving Pearl to explain.
"You are aware that when Sapphire gets too overcome with emotion, she loses control of her ice powers?" Steven nodded, remembering the visit to the Keystone Motel all too well. "Well, when it happens in the snow, she turns into a snowman."
"But why are there more than one?"
"Amethyst thought that it would be hilarious to watch.
"Shouldn't we go help her?"
"I tried Steven, but as soon as I got close, she hurled a fireball at me and said she didn't want any help. The only thing we can do now is wait."
'This is RIDICULOUS', thought Ruby. She had been out here for who knows how long looking for Sapphire , but these DAMN SNOWMEN WERE IN THE WAY! She expected one snowman, one which she would talk to until Sapphire thawed herself and then they'd apologize to each other and form Garnet and everything would be okay. She hadn't expected nearly twenty! Why were there so many? Was Sapphire angrier than Ruby first thought? She tried to think if she said anything particularly bad, but she came up empty. Steam began to rise from Ruby's feet, but she took no notice. Was it the thing about future vision? No, it couldn't be. Or maybe her suggestion about Steven? No, not that either. She couldn't take it anymore! She was starting to miss her. She wanted her. She really needed to find...
"SAPPHIRE!"
A loud boom was heard by the occupants of the house and they all rushed outside, weapons at the ready, but they stopped, dumbfounded at what they saw. Ruby was standing in a crater, looking a tad contrite at the damage she caused. And standing a few feet away was, eye wide open, was Sapphire. After a few awkward seconds, she began laughing. Full bodied, uncontrollable laughter. Upon hearing this, Ruby turned and rushed towards her, and after babbling for a bit, began to twirl her in the air until they were gone and Garnet was back. Still chuckling to herself, she made her way towards the three still standing on the steps. As she passed them, she turned towards Amethyst and said:
"You were right. That was hilarious.
