After a year of the tragic death of his brother, Delsin Rowe begins to change his ways and become a more responsible man for the sake of his brother. As he conceals his gifted powers and become an ordinary guy, he comes across a new plot. A mysterious masked figure is set loose in the city of Seattle and is kidnapping innocent conduits.

INTRODUCTION

"Shocking news reports on a "conduit" crime which involves a vicious attack in Seattle's Mall. This attack, police say, had a family of three in hostage. Fortunately, a good Samaritan had come to the rescue. The family had no injuries and are perfectly two conduit criminals, 27 year old Renee Samuels and 29 year old Alex Samuels, are critically injured from the strangers' attack. They will be rushed to the hospital and will be taken under custody."

"Did you see who the stranger was, sir?"

"No, the man's face was covered with a bandanna and he wore a cap," replied the father of the family, "But, whoever he was, he had a black jacket with the D.U.P logo printed on the back."

"Was this man a conduit as well?"

"Yes, he was. He shot the girl's leg with an ice shard-or something like it-and shot the boy's shoulder with another."

"People thought the Department of Unified Protection had ended all with the help of 24 year old Delsin Rowe. Unfortunately, they seem to be returning back to Seattle to keep their word of protecting the civilians. Seattle 9, Diana Wright signing off."
