I read my book as the boys play video games and Starfire cheers. Cyborg, of course, is winning. This is one of our good days, there where no arguments over breakfast this morning, there where no fires or explosions caused by breakfast, no one was sent to the infirmary because of breakfast, and I'm even watching them play video games, not that I'll ever tell them that. For all they need to know, I'm reading my book, not watching Cyborg kick Beast Boy and Robin's butts in their stupid game. They suddenly pause it.
"Raven, are you ok?" Beast Boy asks me.
"Fine," I dead pan.
"Ok. I was just wondering because you haven't snapped at me yet."
"I just don't feel like it today."
"Friend Raven, are you the sick?" Starfire asks. Why can't they just enjoy the day?
"I'm fine, Starfire," I grumble.
"Are you sure, Raven?" Robin asks and the light in the kitchen explodes.
"She's sure," Cyborg says. Well, this day was peaceful. I sigh and start reading my book as they continue their game. Eventually Starfire leaves to go feed Silkie. After an hour, Robin pauses the game.
"Hey!" Beast Boy exclaims.
"I'm going to see what's taking Starfire so long," he says before exiting the game so that Cyborg and Beast Boy can still play.
"Hey, Raven, want to join us?" Beast Boy asks me before they start.
"No," I say in my usual monotone voice, but I do go back to watching them play. A few hours go by before we realise that Robin and Starfire never came back.
"They're probably just doing something together," Beast Boy says, brushing it off, but Cyborg goes to check it out anyway. After two more hours of Beast Boy playing video games by himself and no one coming back, I look over at him. "They're probably just pranking us."
"I don't think so, Beast Boy. Let's go check it out," I say, putting book down.
"But..." He starts to whine.
"Now," I growl.
"Ok, fine!" We go to Starfire' s room first; Silkie isn't even in there. We're almost to Robin's room when BumbleBee calls me on my communicator.
"Raven! Speedy, Raven is still ok," she calls.
"What?" Beast Boy asks.
"Everyone over here other than Speedy and I are gone."
"We tried to call Robin and Cyborg, but they didn't answer," Speedy says.
"They're missing, too. It's just Beast Boy with me. We'll have to meet up somewhere. This is a problem."
"No kidding. We're already on our way down there," BumbleBee says and turns her communicator off.
"What do you think happened to everyone?" Beast Boy asks.
"I'm not sure, but we'll have to be careful, so don't do anything stupid."
"Got it!" We're doomed.
