That Weird Day

When Debbie Hemlock woke up the first thing she saw was the tree. She was puzzled for she had not decorated it. The last thing she remembered was making a toast with her family and Darren."Darren!" She muttered to herself, shaking her long, brown hair out of her face,"He must have decorated the tree!" She jumped out of bed and then noticed she wasin her normal clothes! "Whats happening here?" she mused, then ran off to fetch her parents.

They were just as puzzled as their daughter. "There was always something mysterious about that Darren Shan boy" Jesse told his family,"From the spoon-chewing thing to the secret family there was always something odd about him." They all had one thing on their minds, to find Darren Shan. When they arrived at the hotel the receptionist told them that Mr. Shan and his family left on the twenty-third. "But we dined with him on Christmas Eve.Thats another mystery we need to solve."Donna said agitatedly. But wherever they went it just became more clear that darren had left to who-knows-where.

However much they tried they could not enjoy Christmas even when Debbie found out she didn't have to read The Three Musketeers any more. Darren Shan had left them confused and sad.

Thirteen years later

Debbie Hemlock, teacher at St. Mahlers, was reading her childhood diary when she came to that story."I hope one day I'll be able to solve the mystery of that weird day,"she muttered lazily and went to check that the scrambled eggs ( Darrens favourite food, what a coincidince!) were cooking okay
